I know it has been discussed plenty. But, i haven't found an answer so ill post this question.

Im looking for a dash cam or 2. I need one that is motion activated, so that way when I'm away from the truck I can leave it on. And, I need it to work at night.

Also I need one outside on the rear of my tractor(I drive platform)……Has to have same qualities as the one inside. Has to work at night and motion activated…...

    Anyone give me some ideas??

I got mine from Amazon. The picture is great, day or night, and it's got a G-sensor for things that go "bump" in the night, lol. There are plenty of choices. . . Mine is over 6 months old so it's probably obsolete!

I just bought the cobra CD-R 810. Works great during the day but the night view seems a little weak. It also has a motion detector built into it. Reasonably priced also

Dieselboss has some good products. where he has had knowledge of the trucking industry, he wont be trying to steer you into a unit that wont perform well.
*note: I am not affiliated with diesel boss, nor am I friends or an employee (tho I do need a job). I am merely plugging for him in his absence.

    Thanks.

I have a system that does his requirements.

But the OP refers to two different systems that are miles apart in price. "A camera or two"

"A camera" in the windshield with motion detect is simple and cheap. "Two cameras" with one being weatherproof outside, both with motion detect and night capabilities is also available, and not cheap.

And always keep in mind that you cannot put cameras with IR night beams in them behind flat glass or they just bounce back off the windshield at night and ruin the image anyway.
