Let's get back on topic folks. This is a thread for new driver information at Prime. There are plenty of other threads for troll baiting.

I read the first 30 pages of this thread (wow - lots of info)... Looking to go tanker and talked to a recruiter (Cindy) and strongly looking into starting training 1/12. I want to have a final decision by Friday (have another offer too). I've got my CDL-B and have about 3.5 years of bus driving experience. I took my tanker and combination tests a couple years ago but never followed through on getting my CDL-A at that time. Got the book and not too worried about re-taking the tests before I go.

How much are you prime drivers making a week net pay?

Well I thought I would introduce myself on here. I am starting as of right now on 2/2/15 if I can get everything accomplished by then. I am 53, fished bass tournaments for about 15 years, like country music, but love my classic rock and roll. I do not smoke or chew. Looking forward to meeting new friends and learning a new career. I was in the navy as a jet mechanic on helicopters. Been with Robert Shaw controls for the last 15 years as a supervisor and a senior quality analyst. But the are closing the factory and moving it to Mexico. So I am thru with manufacturing. Looking forward to being on the road as my last career. I am just 100 miles from Springfield. Should be up there the Sunday before.

The biggest advice I can give you in you endeavor is DO NOT DO A LEASE PURCHASE .......EVER!!!!! I do not care what anyone tries to brain wash you about or what the driver "yes men" try to tell you. Do not do it!!

Boy Howdey and redoctober83 Thank this.

Please keep the acrimonious debate about leasing on other threads. Thanks.azsteve Thanks this. -
What's a reasonable amount of time to wait before I get a call back from the recruiter? I applied 7 days ago, received a request via email for some documentation 5 days ago and have had no contact since. I have called many times and left a message to see if they would confirm receiving my documentation I had sent through the email, but can't get my recruiter to confirm via phone or reply back via email.
I realize they are very busy, so I'm just looking for some others to tell me what their experience was as far as wait time after submitting their application.
