We don't "go back" to 82 hrs. We have never had 82 hrs. 70 hrs in 8 days. That is all. The 82 hrs thing is part of a scare tactic groups like Crash and Public Safety are using to get the public riled up against the bill passing. Even if it passes, it just suspends the 1am to 5am and the one 34hr reset per weeks provsions while the FMCSA does yet another study to try and justify the first one. Your guess as well as mine what they will come up woth next. But in a likelyhood, we won't like it either.

They can't report the 34 hr rule correctly, I don't trust that they can report any of it correctly...Cowpie1 and Skydivedavec Thank this. -
Well said. So many folks seem to think the 34 reset is some sort of a requirement. I don't even use it every week. I would say I probably use it about1 in every 3 weeks on average. I did use it more before the 168 and 0100-0500 thing came about. I can deal with all the hubbub around this simply because I have no problem just recapping like before the 34 thing came about. If the situation arises where I can use it, I will. IF not, then just recap and go about my business.

Just so we're clear here, the house passed the bill. The Senate still has to pass it, and the president still has to sign it. Nothing has changed yet.

Let me guess, the new study will be based on statistics gathered during these winter months, every driver who is involved in a crash and doesnt have the last change of duty flagged or has any other error in his/her log book will be counted as a fatigued driver. I bet the new rules will be even more restrictive, probably will have to all perform our duties between the hrs of 9:00 AM and 5:00PM. Why can't we just go hang these SOB's off there front porches like the good old days, when did those laws change, and why?

seems the Senate just passed the spending bill, and it goes to the potus to sign

cnbc talked about the banks. since that's part of the stock market news.
someone else posted about the reset rule from some other sight.
the radio keeps saying the bill is just another temp fluzie for only 9 months. don't know what it's so dang hard for congress to pass a long term bill like they once used too. construction companies are tired of trying to get jobs they may not have or be able to finish cuz congress won't pass a funding bill long enough to finish jobs.
the 80 in nevada has had barrels sitting around since march. doing absolutely nothing but decorating the highway. from elko to winnemucca. and the only job that actually got done, whatever they did. was the carlin tunnel -
Here is a easy break down for the spending bill.............http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs...spending-bill-we-skim-it-so-you-dont-have-to/
