Im curious as to what people could recommend for me. I have $120 from my company I have to spend before the end of the year, and am wanting to get satellite radio. They wont let me mess with truck wiring or anything, but if its portable they dont care. My truck stereo is a Kenwood with a usb and aux ports, if that makes a difference. Does it just plug into the aux or usb port? I have to send company links to Amazon of what I want, and Im not sure what's good and whats not. Also what about an antenna? I have to keep it under $120, so can you guys give me some suggestions of what is good in my price range. Thanks.

I'd start with a little hula dancer on the dash. I don't have Sirius, but will probably get it next year after taxes.

Almost all in your price range, I'm partial to the onyx listed above, you can tune it to play through "an unused FM channel" on your radio. But to get true "digital quality" sound you will need to plug into your aux. port, but you will need to get a 3.5mm cable,(about $5.00 at Walmart, the shorter the better) the power cable just plugs into cig lighter/power outlet. -
Don't get the Onyx Plus... it's a piece of junk, I've been through 4 already this year

Idk how anyone does this job without Siriusxm anymore honestly. It keeps me so entertained I couldn't do it without it
bobtrucks2204 Thanks this. -
I have a SkyFi 2 that I have had for probably 15 years. Best thing ever for drivers!!

I had the Onyx Plus receiver it worked pretty good, never gave me any trouble. The AUX cable it comes with is junk though, it wears out very quickly where the cable bends on the connections. Whatever you do get a decent receiver that lets you pause, rewind, and fastforward. Honestly, the factory antennas aren't too bad if mounted in a decent spot. Sure you can get those giant antennas to mount on your mirror or visor, but I found that mounting the little magnetic spot antenna on a bracket on the back of my sleeper worked great. I mounted it on the same one my Qualcomm antenna was attached to, it just stays in place with a magnet so you don't have to drill or anything. In that spot I never had any issues with the signal. Definitely don't get a receiver that limits you to connecting to the head unit through an un-used FM channel, the first town you go through that broadcasts on that channel will ruin the whole thing, lol. Definitely use the cable to connect to your head unit.

You don't need to hardware the receiver to the radio. If you have an auxiliary port in the radio (most do now) you can run the cord through the Aux and have crystal clear sound.

I picked up an Onyx EZ for about $50 at Love's a month or so ago; they had a $50 rebate on it. Poked around online, and found a code for 6 months of XM Select (the plan I wanted; don't care about Howard Turkey) for $25.
The included patch antenna is on the passenger mirror; it works OK. I will soon be swapping trucks, and will likely put a "mushroom" antenna up behind the sleeper on that one.
