They don't, and that's why all of a sudden, one of your checks is short. I went around and around with a guy I drove for once. He insisted I take HY.6 (?) or was it 30, to get around Indiana and Ohio. Well, I did it once, chewed up a bunch of fuel in towns, and the clincher was I almost hit a little girl on a bike in a small town. Light turned green, I let the clutch out, and this little girl darted out in front of me, it was close. After that, (I was pretty shook up) I hopped on the tollway, paid them out my pocket, and told him to take this job, well, you know the rest.
how can companies make money with Tolls?

I always think the tolls are worth it. Less exposure running through the small towns. I've always though if I do get a ticket it will be running through small towns. Multiple speed limit changes tight turns. Add to that pedestrians and it just saves fuel mileage to keep it on the big road.
There are some tolls I avoid. Like I-35 in KS, I run US 50 to 135.MJ1657, G.Anthony and "semi" retired Thank this. -
Tolls are the smallest expense a truck owner has.

This is one of the main ones I was referring to. Hwy 30 or 6 will take you thru a multitude of towns and stop and go lights every 1/4 mile. I'll pay the toll any day here. There are some out west than be avoided and still be on good highways. -
