Someone asked about the fuel savings with wings on trailer.....
Those fairy wings are dangerous and a constant threat against your safety record.
We have them at Millis. We keep getting messages about all the accidents that occured during the previous week. Drivers forget they have them and back into a space and break the wings off.
It also makes it really awkward and dangerous to climb into the trailer. Whether the wings are out or tucked against the door, it makes it difficult to hold on to the door when climbing in or out.
As far as fuel mileage .... sorry, don't know.
Glad I moved over to Poly Trucking

ELMORE COUNTY -- Idaho State Police is investigating a crash involving two semi trucks on I-84 near milepost 108.
Idaho State Police officials say the crash occurred just east of Mountain Home at around 1:30 p.m. Saturday on the westbound side of the interstate.
ISP says 60-year-old Vaughn Clark of Boise was driving up Hammett Hill in a commercial vehicle with two trailers. 60-year-old John Wood of Cambridge was traveling in the same direction in a beet truck.
ISP says Wood attempted to pass Clark, but had to return to his lane when he saw a passenger car in the passing lane coming toward him. Wood reportedly hit the brakes to avoid hitting Clark, but was unable to stop in time. The rear trailer of Clark's truck became dislodged and came to rest on the interstate.
Dispatchers tell KTVB one of the trucks was actually pushed off the interstate, but didn't clarify which one.
ISP says traffic was blocked for several hours.
In addition to this crash, Elmore County dispatchers tell KTVB 2 additional crashes were reported Saturday evening as a result of the backup caused by the earlier accident. Dispatchers say no injuries were reported in those accidents.

passed my yr here at poly but will finish up my first calender yr here and go home thru new yrs, all in all it seemed to fly by which is always good, i guess if everyone quits by the time i get back that will move me up the ladder lol i could prob count the bad days ive had here on one hand, but those were usually a combination of many things coming together at once including the normal annoyances of trucking. Merry Christmas Happy New Year and if theres an apocalypse good luck

Picked up load out of Yakima, Washington heading to Fort Worth. Can't deliver till Friday. So will just take my time as I don't want to get stuck on yard with over due PM and probably no loaners.

I already got my backhaul for after the holiday. Pick up in Riceboro Friday afternoon, but it doesn't deliver until Monday in Houston.
