ON my last Rand
The last company I worked for I had many many addresses stored so I never wanted to change to a different brand and loose all my addresses vs. spending hours inputting them all
first unit lasted 4 months- unit quit charging- replaced under warranty --- with a used unit
second unit lasted 4 months - started qliching out- replaced with another used unit
3rd unit lasted a year--- software issue - screen blanking out -- Rand would not honor the problem because they said they dont cover software issues????? isnt that what the whole unit is based on???
Anyway to keep my addresses and save time the only choice I had was to pay for another unit. So now a year later this unit is doing the same as the last---- screen starts to go in and out and it wont hook up to my laptop to do updates or backups
I like the functions that it has but it does have a lot of quirks.
If you are coming into a large city and would like to get differences around the city --- instead of running local routes it will give you the route you are on and the othere route will be 3-8 hours longer and run you way way out of your way but I wont get into more of the problems.
Now that I am not with my last company and dont need all the addresses so I think it is time to go to a different brand -
did the 730 trade in deal and now want to move my Traffic Everywhere subscription to it, but do not see how to do it. 730 rejects my activation code, I assume because it was used on 720. Is there a way to de-activate subscrition on 720 so I can use it on 730? If not, boo, not nice.

OK, so I bought a 730, to replace my 720, and I'm greeted with this.
It happens about twice every hour.
I can replace it, but I paid for Traffic subscription, and from what I understand, it's not transferable to the new unit
So, do I replace it, and loose $20 for traffic, or is this fixable?

Why would you pay for traffic when it is free on google maps ?

a replacement 730LM. -
I find the 730 to be a piece of junk.
The features touted would be great, if the unit would work.
Reliability should be the most important feature. But RM doesn't seem to adequately QA their products.
I just bought the 730. I experienced repeated lockups during the 2 days that the unit actually worked.
Then on the 3rd day, the screen went white and the unit became unuseable.
Returned it today, we'll see if I ever get a reliably functioning unit.
I don't know anyone who has purchased the 730 who hasn't had issues and at least one return.Last edited: Jan 7, 2015

Thanks,
MarkDitch Doctor Thanks this. -
You can always change your route settings. If you have set to prefer freeways it will most certainly try to keep you on freeways.
Thanks,
Mark
