If a paper filter fails from manufacturing defect it will cover downstream damage, the washables do not.
I worked on two trucks that had washable filters both had failed, you take a white shop towel and with it wet and a little soap wipe the piping going to the turbo if it comes out dirty it is junk.
There is an air filter survey on the Diesel Garage site, it may be on Google as well it is for diesel pick-ups but it is still relevant. Junk is junk.
Is it worth the investment for the Fleet Air Filter?
