Well right now not to much going on, Some down time. was attempting to do the CBT's but sadly the system seems to be having a problem and video keeps freezing.
They want anyone with a permit/cdl who hasnt done interview yet to go in at 3 to do it. Then at 4 go to sim lab to do the simulator. About to go out and see if i can find a driver/instructor who will go over the pretrip with me i hate sitting here doing nothing.
Have to say this to anyone who is coming to PRIME, If your blood pressure is higher then normal at no stress conditions STAY AWAY from the salt, sugary drinks, etc.. Drink lots of water and things with very little or no salt. I've ate salads, since yesterday for my meals and used the lowest sodium dressing i could find, had some lemonade with dinner last night and been eating bananas for other things. Your blood pressure will be high no matter what on the first day esp if you arrive late on the bus; Get a good nights rest if you can.
First day is a lot of waiting around in lines, do this do that etc and being shoved around like cattle in a cattle farm to do what needs to be done.
***Edit
Found an instructor and asked him if he would be willing to go over the pretrip with me. He was kind enough to do it and his student who is upgrading needed to do a refresher anyways. While going over it many other students and drivers and instructors came over to watch. The instructor had a surprise look that I asked if he would be willing to do it with me. Everyone here has been nice and helpful I've had many great conversations with many different peopleLast edited: Jan 6, 2015
FullMetalJacket Thanks this. -
Stepping up and asking questions, seeking out help, taking your own initiative & the bull by the horns.............?
My, we may actually have a trainee with the right attitude here!
Exactly what we're looking for in an individual.
Your off to a great start. Keep it up!

hows it going broshears? How long is the training?

FullMetalJacket,
Thanks Im going to make sure i keep it up going to spend time out doing my pretrip today until i can do it in my sleep. We have a wind chill advisory for today till tomorrow of 10-15 below.. Most people probably not going to want to be outside which is a good thing means more time for medoing pretrip.
Hoping to get my prime badge soon so i can go to the pad and get some time on the pad soon. Was supposed to do the the simulator last night but they had us waiting to do our interviews starting at 3 for permit holders and it took up till after 6pm to get into the interview so by time we were done we couldnt do the simulator going there at 4PM today to make sure i can get on it.
Going to finish my CBT's the system has been bogged down due to the amount of students that are here so the videos kept freezing up going to finish them this morning. Roll call at 8. I have to go down to the DMV at some point today to transfer my permit over to MO.
Gotta finish my logbook for last night, then start it for today.
Good luck everyone out there and stay safe!
JDMREDNECK33,
The orientation lasts about 4-5 days, By friday they are hoping that we will have a trainer. Theres a class of about 30 new instructors so that will help out. Then we will go out on the road for 2-4 weeks i believe to get 10k miles with the instructor then come back and test for the CDL, then we go back out on TNT and team with a training running a team truck for 30k miles.
Training is going to be long, but it will be worth it. I'm glad I'm doing it this time of the year when its still winter so i have some time driving in winter conditions WITH a instructor/trainer.
