I've been here almost 4 hours. Got sent to a dock, got a few pallets, sat for an hour with no more movement in the trailer. Then they tell me I have to go to another building down the street for the rest of the load.

When I checked in at this second bldg I told the guy I was low on hours and already had waited at another door. I made a joke that he should let me jump the line, TOTALLY KIDDING, and he says "let me see what I can do". Comes back and says they have my product at a different dock and that they can load me right away over there. He said the yard guy was gonna pull a trailer out of a door to make room for me and I said "so you want me to back in when the door is open?" He says "no no you STAY WHERE YOU ARE (in a line of 6 trucks) and I'll come out there and let you know".

So he never came out, all the way up until I was at the front of the line at this building. When a door came open I went ahead and backed in. I saw him on the dock and asked him why he never came out and got me and he said "I told you to go to the other dock. You s'posed to be over at the other dock". I reminded him that he told me to stay where I was and that he was gonna come out there and then he says "well they don't have your product over there anyway. " So first he chastised me like **I** screwed up, only to tell me they couldn't have loaded me over there anyway. Wtf. When he said "let me see what i can do", he was supposedly checking to find out if they had any of my product over there. Came back and said yes. Now says no. Seriously, wtff? I said "so basically you were just jerking my chain. Thanks a lot". I'll prolly sit here another 4 hours for that comment, lol.

    (I didn't chock my wheels. That'll teach 'em!) 😜

I used to go down there on a fairly regular basis to pick up oil dry and carry it to a hazardous waste treatment plant in Rock Hill, SC ... but that was many years ago. I never got a "runaround" like that from anybody there. Place musta gone downhill since then. Used to wake up with oil dry all over the windshield in the summer ... looked like snow, but easier to get off.

That's too bad. I used to drop and hook there a fair bit and they were always friendly and helpful. Never sat around in the dock though. I did appreciate that they were one of the few shippers who shipped a heavy product that were smart enough to have a scale on-site.

Everybody else was nice and friendly. Just that one guy didn't have a sense of humor when I joked about jumping the line. I think he thought I was serious and he thought he was gonna teach me a lesson, maybe. Idk. I maybe shouldn't have put BAD in the title just cuz of one jerk. Maybe I should have posted in the Rant section, lol

If you run out of hours there, you can stay, but it's a dirty place. If you can get to it, there's a Wal-Mart not too far away that allows truck parking. There's also a decent Chinese buffet within walking distance of the wally world. We pick up out there a lot. First time I went there, I thought I was lost as all get out. FCFS is their specialty!!

I didn't even ask if I could stay. Place is so crowded I just assumed they'd say no. I found a wide shoulder less than a mile down the road. Spent the next 8 hours there on the coldest night of the year with a broken bunk heater. 😱
