Yeah, mine still locks up when using 3D mode. Does not when using other view modes. Too bad, as I still cannot use my 730 the way I REALLY want (3D mode, auto zoom)

I am pretty sure that issue has been fixed. I run 3d a lot in testing and have not seen it appear. But, I am on a Beta version and RM just released 3322 which might have that issue still.

I think if you had it in 3D mode and AutoZoom on that issue appeared.

    Thanks,
    mark

    Hello Mark,

I am new to this site and have just finished reading the support thread for the various Rand McNally TND models, part 1 and part 2. I have a couple of questions that I haven't seen answered yet. The micro SD card I will need to purchase for the map update for our TND-720 this month should be a minimum of 8 GB. Would it benefit me to get one larger than 8 GB? If so, is there a maximum that I don't need to go over? Thanks!

8gb will be sufficient. I use 16 with no issues, but just because they were cheap at the time. You will find 32gb might be the max the device will accept. With the new files you will still have about 3-4 gb of storage if you buy an 8gb SD card.

Just make sure it is a Class 10 card. the class 4's are cheaper but the data transfer will be slower.

    Thanks,
    Mark

OK, thanks. I've just started shopping, and I haven't found a lot of 8GB c10 micro SDs. I'll probably just get whatever size I can get a good price on. Thanks again for all you do on here.

That brings up another question. Up until now, the micro SD slot on the TND-720 was not used, even if a card was inserted. Once the maps are updated, will the 720 be able to "see" the unused space on the micro SD, and be able to store POIs, trails, routes, etc. on it?

Marlk, my 720 is on the fritz again. Out of memory errors twice yesterday. It gets rebooted daily and my normal crash frequency used to be once a day and now after running smooth for a month after you and I rebuilt it, it decided to start crashing again. Also, I'm noticing my current speed freezes whenever the gps talks, and the map will sometimes freeze as well. Please pm me your response or at least a pm saying you replied here. Thanks.

You might have little luck finding such a Micro SD card at Walmar
I looked at ours (small one) couldn't find one.
Orderd a 16 gig Card at Amazon, made sure I got it before I left home.

If you go to malwart look real close at what's on the rack.

They were all mixed up on the rack at several malwarts we looked at. The rack tag and big print said 8g but finding the class 10 small lettering mixed in among the 8g cards was like finding the needle in the haystack.

apparently the super intelligent stockers just looked and saw the big 8 on the packaging and just shoved them all on the same rack at every location without looking at the fine print to see which type of 8 they were
