i don't think i've EVER seen trucks stop there. in my very few times out that way.

i wonder what would happen if trucks were to blow by the oregon scale at the river on the 82 out of washington. or, at the very least, exit freeway, pull into truckstop across the street. take a nap or whatever. jump back on freeway again.

shhhh, i shouldn't be typing that.

Those scales in OR and WA are the little ones catching the onion haulers coming down those back roads. If it's night time it's impossible to see the entrance and no lights.

I was hauling a beerload to Boise, ID for the 1st time. As I entered OR on I84, I saw the Port of Entry scale house say open but thought it would be on the hwy like all normally, lol. I didn't know you had to take the exit so I blew it but came back around and went through it.

First time behind the wheel in 1977, deadheading into Utah. I saw the sign that said all vehicles over 26K must pull into the scale. I figured we're empty so we can't be that heavy, right? The friendly LEO that pulled me over explained I was more than that. He even gave me an escort to the local court house to pay the ticket. Such a friendly guy!

I have passed a couple of them by because I had a green light on my pre pass. As I passed the sign, it said, "truck must exit" but, I followed my pre pass instead even though there wasn't a sign saying to follow in cab signal. I've done this a couple of times. My dispatcher told me to follow my in cab signal. It still makes me paranoid. Anybody know the protocol for following which signal, in cab or outside?

Never blew past a scale with the little word out,( waited on the ramp or went around them a lot) but I was pretty much a local driver, so I knew where the scales were, and always waited anxiously to see what the sign said, and besides, the CB was always my guide. I think if you miss a "Weigh Station 1 mile" sign, you should be paying more attention to your driving.

I have one of those a couple of miles from my shop- it's closed 95% of the time BUT don't get lazy, last week they had trucks lined up for 2 miles after the coop that blew by....I think everyone with WSP CVE was there. But I digress......

I blew past Mitchell SD one night last year, but the sign said "CLOPEN", does that count? 50/50 chance there
