Truck should be broken in then. Check and see if 1st overhead has been done.

It was done right before I got her.

Also, after getting to know this truck over the past month, I have named her Esmeralda. That name sticks out in my mind for this truck. Not sure why, but it fits her.

Big time swap point for California/ Midwest runs (and vice versa). US 54/400 connects I-40 in Tucumcari to great junctions in Wichita and from there the whole Midwest. Tucumcari is a major relay point for all big carriers running food from the Midwest (meat) to the mid and lower left coast (veggies) and back.

We just stand out from the others 'cause we so pretty. All white and shiny, and skillful maneuvering and all. Just SEEMS like a disproportionate number of JCT there. Fact is . . . just as many of "thems" there as us. We just look a whole lot better doin' our do than they do so it SEEMS like there are more of us than them. Cause WE be the JC. . .T

[Gibbs to Dinozo] POP to the back of the head). OK! Yes, Tucumcari is a major relay point for all temperature controlled freight carriers due to its junction with other major US highway to the Midwest as well as the east along I-40. Legend has it that the Great Chief of the tribe had a conundrum as to who would succeed him between his greatest two warriors; Tucumán and Tonopah. The winner not only got to be Chief, but the hand of his beloved daughter - Cari. The only way to decide was a knife fight. The Chief favored Tucumán very much, like a son. But fair was fair and right, right so it must be decided by the Great Spirit in a fight, though Tonopah was MUCH better with a knife and the sure-to-be next Chief. Problem was, Cari was in love w/ Tucumán.

OK, OK! Long story short; The braves fight, Tonopah goes all Ninja on Tucumán and was about to launch his final killing blow into Tucumán who was pretty much dead already, when Cari jumps in the way and takes it to her chest and falls out and Tonopah, who loved Cari - but she didn't love him back; she loved Tucumán, is distraught and takes his knife outta her chest and plunges it into his own. They all freakin' die as the ancient Chief watches in horror as all that he loves is killed and has a massive coronary and keels over himself in the end.

All he could manage to whisper out in his dying breath were his two loves' names. "Tucum-Cari . . . TucumCari . . ." choke, choke - dead! They ALL died. Supposedly. Nasty business. Blah, blah, A LOT better (and no doubt more accurately) told by locals and poets. A tragic love story on par w/ Romeo and Juliette. Only a knife fight between Indians over being chief instead of poison and swords over forbidden love. Same Schnizzle. Different players . . . and reasons, and game. OK, it's a different romantic tragedy. Still; kinda the same, but not really. Sort of. Maybe if I'd have told it right. Nah. Still just the same only different.

Happened on the top of that flat top mesa you see right there at the Love's and Hook, doing your swap. Hence that dusty ant hill and the surrounding area became known as . . . Tucumcari. Tonopah apparently lived and migrated to Nevada or something, lots of Tonopah names around.

But, yeah; JCT is a frequent visitor to Tucumcari. No customer. Just a good swap spot to make OTD on tight loads. Salt Lake City, UT too.

I wonder how SLC got its name? I'll get back to you on that one.

The first full quarter you are with JCT. Got at least 30k incident/ ticket free in the quarter. Paid out on the last paycheck of the first month on the next quarter.

4th quarter 2014 will be paid out on the 29th

Well this worked out. Got a load to Reno ran thru Vegas and my tooth decided it would be a good time to break off. Since I have 40 hours of time stopped at home and got tooth pulled. Much better. Plus I'll get a 34 out of it :)

My 2014 Cascadia averaged 7.6 at 66 mph before first overhead ...after the overhead I got 6.8 at 66mph...until it hit about 130,000 miles....now I am getting 7.8 at 66 mph.

Parked at the J in Laredo, Tx doing a restart. Got the IdleAir going so I don't have to put hours on my APU. Got a/c, heat, and cable tv. So, I don't have to watch NCIS, CSI, or Law and Order on the truck stop tv.

Stop by and say hey if any of y'all come down this way. Trailer R5376. Parked next to the IdleAir office.

    IdleAir Thanks this.
