My fiancee works for Toehl Transport. Up until he had to be out for a week due to surgery, they were giving him 1000 miles a week. Since his return, they've been making him sit for 18+ hours waiting to deliver loads or waiting on a load entirely. Hes a vet, and they've screwed with his VA benefits by not sending in his timecards in on time, or not sending them entirely. They have him driving unsafe equipment and he's told them numerous times about the problems and they refuse to fix them! They run him completely out of hours and he has to park on the side of the highway for his ten hours.

Sounds bad...plenty of other companies out there. Has he addressed the issues in a professional manner with his dispatcher?

....that doesn't make sense. If he's sitting for 18 hours how is running out of hours and doing a ten on the side of the road.

Sounds like he doesn't know how to properly manage his times. Remember if he's waiting to get loaded or unloaded or even waiting for a new assignment, he can save his hours by going off duty. No need to burn the 70 clock by staring at the computer.

For the 1000miles/week, I can kinda believe that. But still...I can do 1000 miles in a day and a half and still have over 40+ hours on my clock

I find all of this hard to believe. He must not be doing his job correctly. Roehl is a military-friendly company, and they have one of the better safety scores on the road. I work for Roehl. No, it is not perfect, and there are days I wanna quit....but, most of it is truck driving related, not Roehl.

I have yet to see a truck where it is unsafe to drive at Roehl. Whenever I have a problem, it gets solved ASAP...no matter the time or day.

Roehl will not allow you to even stop on the side of the road, let alone an on/off ramp....so, I find what you're saying to be complete and utter BS.

I am sick of listening to drivers complain about miles. DO YOUR #### JOB! You are out here to make a living for yourself, your family, and to make your company money. This is not an art or anything of the nature. I guarantee your husband complains a lot, and doesn't contact consignees or update ETA's with his FM. Truck driving is not rocket science, or there wouldn't be as many truck drivers.

I think he misses her....but doesn't want to tell her how bad...she would tell him to suck it up and make that chedder...he is telling her this so she will let him come home and snuggle.

Yeah, 1000 miles/week, and sitting on the side of the road for a 10 hour break is laughable. Driver's first job?

    Snowshoes Thanks this.
