Hey everybody,
I'm a CDL grad and interested in doing regional intermodal with Schneider out of Chicago. Then moving to a local position with them after 3 months of experience. They say that it's 90% drop and hook. Is this the case?
How's the pay, mileage and home time for regional? How easy is it to transfer to local?
Thanks for the help
Anybody running Regional or Local Intermodal out of Chicago?

About 90% drop and hook
Start at .37cpm plus .05 cpm if you're a safe driver. Max out at .45cpm I believe. I get 2,000-2,800 miles a week.
Home twice a week, unless live near the yard, then you can go home whenever your in town.Texas Bound Thanks this. -

Maintenance. Not a huge problem, just gotta keep asking them fix something and takes a few weeks to get to your truck. Not a big deal, never broken down in the middle of the road. Just stuff like bunk heater, a/c non-dot related. Office people are great. Dispatch the best. All the managers are awesome. As long as you work hard, don't complaint, do what you're told to do, gain their respect and it will make work much easier

When looking on the Schnieder website is there a specific job posting that will saying regional intermodel or are they the job postings that just say regional? Thanks

I meant if you're running outta time and around town you can park at the yard and go home. Some drivers here go home every other day. I tend to do my 10 at the yard atleast once a week, can't go home I live too far but you get what I'm trying to sayTexas Bound Thanks this. -
