Supersnack , I don't live in a place that frt goes thru it at all , zero. it's along the AA hwy in N.E.KY if I use KY10 to Quincy and take KY8 toward Portsmouth OH , u.s. 23 n 100 miles to Grove City there's Walmart. If you want home time and want 7 or 8 days off you tell them in advance you're not baby sitting a load , you're going out of town , you need to go empty. We have stuff we do London KY , Bowling Green KY , and H
opkinsville KY , each nr the TN line , you empty and go home from there. Yes they have given me loads I allowed because I didn't needs a bunch of time off , but if I stay out a month with plans to go home for 7 days , they don't give me that mom and pop , I'll wait for the central OH frt.

what i meant was that getting home has alot to do with the driver planning and communicating with dispatch to get himself home

Any lanes that pass thru birmingham, al that you know of? I read a post about a plant in s carolina? Thought freight from tx might go through bama sometimes.

I've been thru (around) Birmingham on my way to deliver in GA on 3 of my last 4 loads. I am in Villa Rica, GA now which should be close enough to B'ham.

The plans for the SC plant have been put on indefinite hold...last I had heard anything about it they don't even know if there will be a SC plant.

We pull plastic product out of the plants and take it to various points all over the map .
Then we get a back/haul load in order to get us back to the plant.
If we drop less than 150 miles away they usually just deadhead us back to base.

    Round and round we go

I still have no love from back haul. When I picked up my load, it had a GA-3 on it...which I interpret as 3 stops...Outbound del to GA, backhaul pick up in GA...was empty at 10 GA time...sent my updated availability...and waited. A little while ago I called Poly, they just realized they still hadn't gotten paperwork back from the broker. I know of 3 other drivers that were delivering at the same place I just did...1 today and 2 tomorrow...all 3 had their backhaul load info before delivering...but it seems as though Karma has save the troubled load for me this week...ahhhh well...I'm due, the last month or so has been mostly trouble free.

i have been offered many multi stop alabama loads, i usually dont take them because they are shorter but i have done 1, a 3 stopper with all deliveries near birmingham. also any loads going to the northeast, pa or va could go thru birmingham, and many backhauls coming back from there going to houston would go thru birmingham.

I finally got moving. I called backhaul, said they were waiting on paperwork from a broker. A little while later I get a q/comm message telling me to head towards LaGrange and they would call shortly with the pickup info. 2 minutes later I get a call...from Outbound...they said "we need help" to which I replied "I've heard that, haha, what can I do to help"..."we need a load repowered", "o.k., I'll help, what's the deal?"..."you agree to help without any details?"...."sure, it's February, I'm sitting here waiting for something to do"..."head to Chattanooga, pick up a load to Minersville, PA for Tuesday evening"....."PA, eeeeeeeew."...."does that mean you don't want it?"...."it's not that, I just react that way when you use cuss words like PA, I haven't been there since I started here 16 mos ago, I guess it's my turn"...."great, here's the drivers number so you can find the load, thank you for your help, we owe you one!"..."I may take you up on that once I get my backhaul delivery time, I still want to go home to FL, but won't pass up a 3000+ mile week in Feb"...so I am headed for PA.

    Mev Thanks this.
