It's always been my belief, if there's a job opening with descriptions like that, it's because someone else got po'ed and quit. The sad thing is, eventually, they'll get someone who doesn't know any better.:biggrin_25513:
Learned over my short time. KEYWORDS. This and only me throws up red flags.

PattyJ...if the company wants you to run 4000 a week they've probably bid the haul at a low rate and need you to run that hard to make up for it.
Don't fall for it.
If all the usual delays happens...and they will...you'll be running 24/7 to make your 4000. Jobs like that will ruin you.

pattyj and Shaggy Thank this.

I ran 4000 miles legally in a week a few times, hauling locomotive engines on a drop deck... I shortened the time on paper that I spent inspecting, waiting, tarping, chaining, and stopping to re-tighten along the way, only fueled every 1000 miles, and the average speeds on paper were helped by the fact that a lot of the miles were in Nebraska. Might have been a slight stretch, but I'd still say it was legit. Couldn't have averaged the speed limit pulling hills with that thing on the trailer, but this was a lot of flat ground. I did it now and then for the extra money, but it's a lot of hard running, even in good weather, especially if you're running during the week to be home by Friday evening/saturday morning for the weekend off. But if someone is happy with the lifestyle they'd have running 4000 miles a week, I ain't judgin'...

I agree, lately I visit craigs list as often as I do the forum.I will not drive for a fly by night person, the company has to be legite.I was emailing this milk hauler yesterday and wanted me to drive for him.He wanted to pick me up at the Pilot and ride for a day to see if this is what I wanna do.I turned him down because he does not pay direct deposit didn't have an answer when I asked him the name of his company and didn't answer me when I asked him how much does it pay.i personally think he was looking for a girl friend, lol.

I think the hint in the ad that states "paper logs" tells the real story. I dont think anyone can run that hard week after week and not get burn out.

I'm going to contact this guy and tell him I was fired from Sullivan Transportation recently for taking a crap behind my bobtail. Going to promise I'll do it inside the truck from now if he hires me.
