Unless he had a good excuses and immigration admitting they made mistake in detaining the driver just seems way to fishy
-
OP
Unless you have receipts and pictures of your items with serial numbers you lost. You won't have a leg to stand on.
It falls under. "He said she said"
You say it was in said truck (Insert truck number here). The company says you quit and left. They contacted present driver " he says. You took your stuff when you were dropped off".
So sorry bye bye
New lesson don't ever leave a truck with out your stuff. 95% on this thread either know or had similar happen.Trucker61016 Thanks this. -
If he was detained by immigration they likely didn't give him the opportunity to get his personal items out of the truck. Why the company canned him is another question. His personal gear should have been retained by company for a reasonable time until driver could retrieve it it was not theirs to dispose of. They wouldn't be to happy if they fired a driver and he replied ok no problem you don't want me in your truck any more so I scrapped it.

Somebody would come up with my stuff or somebody would be getting an ##### whipping. I might go to jail but someone would be bleeding.
-
Ummm basically you went to jail in a company vehicle why is any of this the companies fault? The OP obviously screwed up lesson learned life goes on who's to say truck wasnt empty when recovered by company?
-
And if you notice most of the details had been left out when op started the thread. He basicallly just said he was fired and unable to get his stuff and left in another state however failed to mention he'd been detained at border patrol check point overnight

You should read the whole post he left out a few parts at the beginning

just file a lawsuit in small claims, no attorney's involved, just have your receipts and prof, they said they threw all your stuff away. case closed.
