those who can do their job without a computer, I am not just talking truckinh but anywhere in life, are quickly becoming outcasts.

the sad truth is the trucking industry as a whole does not want qualified professionals anymore, they want lobotomized chicken feces.

that is why everytime it snows more than 3 inches, even up north, we are now almost guaranteed to wined up with a 30 or 40 car pile up. That wasn't the case even 10 years ago

I use to be one of those drivers that let companies walk all over me and I have the footprints to prove it.But after so long you get tired of their same ole lame excuses and lines why you should do what they say rather when what you feel is right. The company I sued made me a lot stronger.I did sue another company before that one.But that company settled out of court.

august 2013 is when I was terminated. The company lost 2 major oil contracts in october, due to land safe violations.

The owner wants the equipment in compliance and clean, the local manager was trying to line his own pockets. And being the vocal person I am, the proverbial hit the fan, and I did not stop until I was satisfied.

wow 2013?? That's insane. Almost every company (I said almost, lol) has been trying to get on the ball with equipment and safety because of CSA.

Well said Loose-Leafs. Screw the big fleets, meat in the seat mentality. They have single handedly destroyed the entire industry.

First off, the trailers are only that bad because people aren't refusing to use them. They're not going to be stupid enough to fire you for refusing to break any laws, that's a guaranteed lawsuit that you'll win.

And why do people deal with crap for a job? Simple. Your landlord couldn't give any less ##### what your job is doing. All he cares about is pay him the rent or get out.

In my previous job it fascinated my co-workers that I was able to do mental math on the spot without using a calculator... I counted tills more accurately and faster than those who used the computer and only used paper to show my work. I could calculate change on the fly and usually within seconds of being handed the bills.

I'm not bragging...but it scared me s***less that they were amazed I didn't need a calculator.
