What I hate is when I am merging on to a highway off of a ramp and the 4 wheeler that was behind me shoots across onto the highway before the merge is to take place then they leave you hanging like they were on the highway all the time.....:biggrin_25516:

Personally I LOVE it when the 4 wheelers stays behind my trailer in the lane over... gives me the perfect opportunity to change lanes when I need! :biggrin_25514:
Sure beats the brain dead 4 wheeler who will adjust his speed to block you changing lanes at all times, especially on highway merge lanes etc. :biggrin_25513:

I appologize if this has already been addressed as I didnt read the rest of the thread(due to alot of OFFTOPIC discussion by a few people), but the reason for your statement is...momentum...and regaining it in a 40 ton rig isnt easy. When a truck rolls downhill, it will naturally gain speed. As it climbs a hill, it will naturally lose speed. Trucks will gain much more speed rolling downhill than a car, due to their weight. We'd hate to lose that momentum(might need it for another hill coming up), so we will pass another vehicle to keep it. Naturally, we will slow back to our goverened speed once on level ground, causing other vehicles to pass us. What you describe sounds like what I describe. Believe me, truckers have much better things to do than to play with cars all day. We are trying to do the same as you. Get from point A to point B as safely as possible.

Let's see if I have this correct.

You're apologizing for not reading all the posts in this thread?
Apology accepted, just try not to let that happen again. You never know a what valuable information you might have missed,
IF you HAD read ALL the posts, you would have known that your theory had already been addressed. Probably in those "OFFTOPIC" posts you don't bother reading.
    Ya reckon. :biggrin_25524: :biggrin_25523:

BTW --- you DO realize that an "OFFTOPIC" post by "a few" also bumps the thread back to the top.
Perhaps if they hadn't posted "OFFTOPIC" posts, (in your opinion) -- elevating this thread back to the top, -- you would have missed it all together.

And I wonder if you have selective reading habits. If so, do you pick and choose which highway signs you read?
Or, do you read them ALL?
    And why? :biggrin_25525:

Absolutely. I don't know how anyone can make a peanutbutter and jelly sandwich, hand it to their 3 year old in the back seat, type on their lap top, read a chapter from their romance novel, change the radio station twice, apply a generous amount of make-up and carry on a conference call, all at the same time and still find time to opperate a 2008 Dodge Caravan in heavy traffic. I'm not even going to mention what I've seen the men doing out there. :biggrin_2551::biggrin_2551::biggrin_2551:

But don't you forget, the big trucks have the unsafe drivers, and we're out to get them all!!
