See if you can get an auto parts store to price match or find a wholesaler if possible. I'm sure they'd be happier to have your business.

Is it possible to buy the T6 somewhere in 5 gallon buckets? I used to run dino Rotella all the time and bought 30 buckets when I caught it on sale for $50 apiece one time. When that ran out Napa had their store brand 15w40 on sale for $55 a bucket about a year ago and I got 10 of those. I don't think the oil matters. Whoever has the cheapest buckets is what i'm buying from here on out. Rotella and Napa both produce good samples.
BeN DaViS and Ezrider_48501 Thank this. -
Farm and Fleet has it for 19.99, if you have an MC# you don't have to pay tax either, mention it at the register. http://www.farmandfleet.com/product...hetic-diesel-5w40-motor-oil.html#.VQurFY7F-So
looks like you can get a $5 rebate (limit 2) as well http://d3spdo3nk3n5ki.cloudfront.net/uploads/rebates/1366.pdfEzrider_48501 and Cetane+ Thank this. -
I've never seen T-6 in a 5 gallon bucket...
-
i have not been able to find the t6 in 5 gal buckets yet either.
as far as buying from wholesalers to a wholesaler im a small buyer. they normally deal with shops that use a few hundred gallons per month so i was never able to get that good of a quote from wholesalers.
i know rotella is on sale right now at several retailers so i think i should be able to get the same price elsewhere or atleast real close. -
You do realize for the price you paid for Rotella (and the quantity you're willing to buy) you could go with a product like Schaeffers delivered to your door WITH oil sample kits for LESS then you've already paid..........right?
Ezrider_48501 Thanks this. -
had not really considered schaeffers. will look into it
there are a lot of oils that are a lot cheaper than the t-6 synthetic but for now that is my oil of choice.217flatbedr Thanks this. -
My fuel supplier has a lube sale 2 times a year. I'm lucky that I'm able to purchase all my high volume use oils in Barrels. I'd have to check, I think the 15W40 is the T6, if not its T5, not sure on the 0W40, thats mostly used in the ag tractors. At one time we used to use the recommended oil from each Ag dealer, and that gets to be a pain in the rear in a big hurry. There are some smaller gear box's that require "speciality" gear oil and thats purchased in jugs or pails. But going threw the amount of oil that I do annually, I'm sure glad I don't have to use jugs or pails any more. Those are reserved for the personal vehicles.
As for walmart, the one locally is just terrible. Outside of the grocery department, Sock is bad, often selves are bare and the product is in box's in the isles. The staff is generally terrible. I will say this though I did find one employee the other night that was helpful. It was really quite shocking, I thought helpful walmart employees were like Sasquatch riding a unicorn.Ezrider_48501 Thanks this. -
Like I said, Walmart didn't used to be like that. I don't shop from walmart if I can avoid it, most times I can.
There are perhaps worse places, but none quite as widespread as walmart. -
personally 5 gal buckets are my preferred container size i have a pump that fits the 5 gal pails. 55 gal drums can be a bit of a pain to move around. 1 gal containers are a pia. the empty 5 gal pails can be handy to have around. bathroom trash can wash buckets floor dry ect. i give a lot of buckets away to people who use them for various things and they stack inside each other so quite a few empty buckets does not take up that much room. although a stack of them still end up going to the dump every now and then. if i used more quantity than i do and had a bit more space i think if you were to setup a 250 gal tote on some pallet racking to re-fill a 5 gal bucket would be ideal.
