The first part is for Veterans. The second is what they offer to everyone else. Two complete different groups of people.

MM3deg, thank you for your service. Looks like you are on the right track with your follow up work with the recruiter and finding out all you need to know.
Your thoughts and posts from other members reflect my own experience with Swift. I'm not a veteran, but will address the comments that Swift is far far better than many of the negative comments you read on this forum. I did my TTR research before applying to Swift. Rather than rely on embittered forum comments or recruiters, I decided to check out four different trucking companies near where I live in person. One company just about ran me out of the terminal, said I shouldn't be there, two were disorganized and clueless, then there was Swift.
When I visited the Swift terminal I was immediately invited to "go upstairs" to see the on site recruiter and look at the operations. The recruiter saw me right away and spelled out their program, confirming what the Phoenix recruiter told me. I was then invited to walk the yard and look at the equipment and visit the driver's lounge and talk to the drivers. All in all I felt welcome and was impressed with their openness and professionalism.
Good luck in your decision making and your career.inkeper and JOHNQPUBLIC Thank this. -
OK. Already made it thru the paperwork hurdles, and it has been stated correctly a few times.
Feeling pretty confident about the whole deal.
Its going to be a busy weekend, Im full speed ahead hoping for the 3/30 start date.
I have a lot of work around the house getting things in order.inkeper Thanks this. -
MM3 I am a veteran who works for swift. I'm kind of surprised that you asked for gossip before you actually contacted the company.
As as far as I am concerned, Swift treats veterans great. (I also am not the type to look for a handout.)
When I first contacted Swift, their recruiter told me that I could either attend their academy, or use my GI bill at a school like Sage, and incur no out of pocket costs. Sage and swift are not affiliated. I was impressed that she recommended a school that they would receive no money from.
On top of that, through orientation, etc., Swift has treated me well. no complaints here. -
For some reason I am not able to edit the original post?? I would like to change it to reflect the confirmations.

I had just got off the phone with the recruiter yesterday. I am taking my physical and permit tests this coming week and hopefully starting asap. I am a vet myself (USMC) and even though I was not expecting it, I can confirm from the other posts that the full tuition is paid for. I will still need money for the food and the actual CDL Test done by the state. but not bad. Also, from what my understanding is Swift also covers the hotel 100% as well so you dont have to pay that back either. Hope to be joining you guys in a weeks or so at the Memphis Terminal.
A21CAV, AZTracefan and Lepton1 Thank this. -

Thanks....Have the DOT physical on Monday. A little worried about the hearing portion. I am almost deaf in one ear. But hopefully I can pass and be there shortly. Otherwise I need to wait 7 more weeks for my hearing aid to come in. That is not something that I want to do...but will if I must. I will keep you guys posted how it goes.
