I think it was 64" or 68". I ended up sleeping in hotels later on, it did its job for the first 8 months but it's just not enough room.

Be aware that is not a legal sleeper berth and you will get charged. I had the same setup, had the rear seat removed and built a wooden box with hinged lids for storage underneath, and a real mattress. Was told not legal by the DOT and MTO. A pickup cab is not wide enough to meet the regulations. That's why there are companies that make those bubbles that go over your crew cab back door windows. And your bed has to be raised to that level.

As far as hitch and tool storage, I like the boxes that go across the back, that have a dip in the centre for king pin clearance. You can take your tailgate off and store it. Because if you are going commercial you will want the front of your box for a BIG fuel tank so you can buy where it is cheapest. That's how you make profit.

I was told before as long as you don't log sleeper berth your alright, and I had plenty of inspections and they never said anything. Most the guys thought it was kinda cool. I did find a place that makes large capacity fuel tanks, can't remember the site but it's a easy Google search. They were like 60 gal tanks that bolt in where the original is, use same pump and everything. That with a 30-50 gal round tank in the bed and you'd be rollin.

What did you do.....just mark off duty?? They've always questioned me when I tried that. Wanted to see motel or campground receipts. I was doing travel trailers, so I always just said prove that I'm not sleeping in there. I carried a generator, so they can't say I didn't have heat.

I put the larger 60 gallon tank in place of the stock tank and had a 100 gallon transfer tank in the bed.

That rule doesn't make sense to me anyway. I'm short enough I could lay across that bed with my legs straight. and I even had window covers and a curtain to separate the drivers area. And they still said I couldn't do it.
