I agree completely D60. I have no idea why what some one does in a mustang GT out on an open highway reflects at all what they do when they are on the job in a commercial vehicle. I'm not saying it's right, but it has nothing to do with how one would act in a commercial vehicle. I've never gotten any kind of ticket or violation, ever, in a commercial vehicle. Most I ever got was the token "overweight fix it" because a shipper loaded me wrong and I corrected it. I've always driven trucks very safely.

When I got these tickets was right before I started driving trucks. I had no idea it would impact me so much, I also wasn't aware of all the lwyrup possibilities, I thought you either paid or went in yourself (which I tried and they laughed and pegged me with the ticket).

It may also vary state to state as it does province to province in Canada.

In my home province, we have a system where you acquire points for motor vehicle infractions, ranging from 2 points for seatbelt, speeding under 10mph (16kph) of the limit, etc right up to immediate suspension of license for a year (10 point) DUI, speeding in excess of 40mph (65kph) of limit, reckless endangerment etc. I know a neighbouring jurisdiction has a similar system but instead if starting with 0 and accumulating points, you start with 10 and lose them.

In both provinces, it takes 2 years for the points for "fall away" or be restored. In my province it takes 5 years before the offence disappears from my printed abstract and in the neighbouring province it takes 7 years to clear. Many jobs cars claim they are looking for candidates without outstanding points on their license, as these affect insurance rates more than past offences apparently.

I'm not sure how long they take to fall off the commercial vehicle abstract, but I've only been asked to furnish the abstract available from my Department of Motor Vehicles for a few bucks.

The Trucking industry is controlled by the insurance companies. What they say is what goes!

15mph in the past two years is a killer in the trucking world. The OP also did not disclose what the other "violation" was, so me thinks there is much more to this tale of woe.... The OP should be looking at other career options not in the trucking world...

What do you mean I didn't disclose what the other violation was? I could have sworn I've explained it in this thread, maybe it was in another thread. The other violation I don't pay much attention to, I believe it was 6mph over. They changed the speed limit on a highway from 75 to 65 and immediately put up a speed trap. I was going something like 71-72. I was not the only car pulled over. Yes, 15mph over in the past 2 years is definitely a killer. It's why I'm hoping to continue on in my career long enough for that to fall off and from here on out have been and plan on driving granny mode.

I doubt any insurance company will insure you the next 3 years. Time for you to move on from this industry and find another career. Good luck!

Hey "Bobby" while I sure do appreciate your opinion, I do believe it would be much better suited if you placed it back into your rectum. Also, a little pro tip from an internet wizard like me- try reading a thread before replying to it. I know it sounds complicated but I believe given enough time and dedication you might learn how. Thanks, and have a great day! :)

Did you have to do that right after you got it? I have heard you can pay a lawyer big bucks to get it off some time later but I know that's probably not the case.
