Some of the longest days in trucking can come from the local circut.

Well everyone I win the bronze star today, I was the last truck back to the yard.
I clocked in at 0400 and clocked out at 1800 and I know for a fact that I screwed that up on my time sheet, on the computer, because by the time I got back to the yard and sat down to do my paper work I wasn't even thinking straight. I did 100 miles today and 14 stops. My last stop took way way way to long, it was at a shopping mall and I didn't know what door to go through or anything like that heck didn't even know where the food court was wasted 1/2 an hour trying to find the door to deliver through and didn't find it by the way ended up going through the wrong, door, but the place only had 2 wheeler loads so I said forget it last stop 2 wheeler loads, I'm not moving the truck.

Also had a couple other stupid time killing things today goofy backing and got my self into one of those backing jams any of you guys ever do that once or twice in you're career where you pull into somewhere get almost set up and there's just not enough room and end up having to fidget and move around and weasel and snake around and it all takes way to long and you end up making it worse thinking oh man how am I going to get out of this one? Yeah I had one of those today actually that whole stop was wrong from the start

Then had a dock at a college that's a kind of tricky dock to hit and ended up waiting for the dock and then had to go and hit the dock and that took 15 minutes of poor maneuvering on my end eventually I did get it though and the delivery went pretty quick after that, but yuck.

Then because I was far away from the yard I had a 25 mile drive back into the yard and the truck I was in needed fuel so I stopped at the gas station to get fuel before I parked the truck at the yard so that all took time. I got home at 6:15pm today. It was a solid 13-14 hour day, I don't really know can't even think straight right now. Just trying to figure out what went wrong and make sense of it all so next time it all goes smoother.

 

That's pretty much it the worst thing that happened today was a leaking container of OJ that's it, which isn't that bad not at all out of the whole day I issued one credit for $19.00 that's less then 1% considering all the cases I had. Heck even filled up the truck with fuel before going back to the yard.
