I've heard adverts from Hirshbach (spelling?) about some of the perks, as well.

But I'm no so interested in how many miles are guarantied, but more how much I control how I run.

The notion that the actual owners of the trucks have the autonomy to put whichever systems they wished on them?
Well, ####.... tell me how it really works, then?

Yea I think so too but we will see. That and defense lawyers. Footage is the first thing they will demand.

2 months ago in the Swift boardroom:

Jerry: We are losing our ### on these company trucks! We need to get more drivers into leases so we can shift the operating expenses into them, and sell them $80,000 fleet spec cascadias for 140,000

Richard: Well we already set the governors higher on the lease trucks for that reason. What about sticking a camera in their face? They would probably hate that, and the ones that don't quit might consider leasing.

Jerry: Genius! Put out some propaganda (call it a FAQ) and get the ball rolling.

'Genius' has never been so short sighted, if that is the case.

If it turns out that lease trucks will not be getting cameras, I can guarantee you that incentivizing the lease program was at least part of the internal calculus when deciding on this policy.

What this really is is an extended social experiment facilitated by the federal government in collusion with the trucking industry to see just how far your everyday average American citizen can be pushed to the point of limited Freedom before they revolt. Once they figure out the tipping point for truckers, they will have a good barometer to gauge how far to push the rest of the American populace without going too far.

It's a sad state of affairs in our times allowing all this stuff to happen, trust me if King George had pulled just half this spit in the 1770's there would have been a revolution.
