yup, they are finishing it - by wednesday they tell me. it is probably the yellowest thing in their yard right now.

HH - i was too heavy to go 2 2 2 - my tractor is 27k - OK ( yes I hate Ok, but is my route home from TX) I would have only been able to scale like 100K. I went 2 3 2 and will put my lift axle down and should get pretty close to 120k.

I did go disc brakes, air scales, and tire inflation. I think what will hurt me for a while is only 26' well and no deck inserts. I will keep an eye out for used would like like 8 or 10 ft but only so much money to get started.

I think the factory folks are gonna think I am nuts as I figure out how it turns in their lot. But - how much trouble can I really get in? ugh!

I doubt you will be the first one.

Can't be worse than my first trip 2+2+2 when I was just a pup, managed to drive it down a dead end road.

Tried backing, made an epic fool of myself- must have looked like someone pushing a garden hose. It was in Kent, WA in a little industrial area, so of course I ended up blocking the rigs that were supposed to be there- no pressure + an audience. Some old-hand drivers (to me at the time) came over with "that's not going to work young man, you've still got a 1/2 mile to go" & helped. Those were the days. Luckily nothing on the deck, broke it apart & got everything going the other direction. The experience took years off my life.

Before "smart phones", so if you were smart you found a phone booth & called the boss to tell him you are "running a little late". "Guys in the yard called & they see you over there, it's the next left". My lucky day.

    Ah, sweet memories!:biggrin_25514:

Everybody does it sooner or later...same with forgetting to unhook the hoses and light cord when detaching, you've got two possibilities; haven't been doing it long enough, or lying...
About the only brain dead thing I haven't done with this trailer is forgetting to take out the traveling blocks before loading...been real close a couple of times, but I'm still in the "haven't done this long enough YET!" part of this category of stupid.

The bigger the trailer and/or the load, the harder it becomes to unscrew yourself. A good one of the dead end road or way too tight for the size problems will teach you to get off your lazy butt, and go for a walk first...I've walked many a mile because it just didn't look right. I've peeved a few other guys by abandoning ship to go for a scouting walk. One guy got so belligerent I finally just smiled at him and said "Look, if I move out of your way like you want me to you're going to take off. If I stay parked like the jacka$$ you're telling me I am, if I need help you have no choice but to help me...not so stupid after all huh?" It made him feel important, enough that he quit honking his horn and screaming at me anyway...
