I broke my contract with PAM. I was on the path to make about 28k with PAM, and I signed on with Werner (Similar Companies, but I was making .26 CPM at PAM, and .32 CPM at Werner) and made about 40k instead. I payed about 4.5k out of pocket to Driver Solutions for breaking my contract and ended up making more money out of the deal. Breaking the contract won't affect your DAC, won't stop you from getting a better job. I don't think that Driver Solutions even bothers to pursue most of the money owed (I know two guys that just flat never payed them, and they're both still driving 2+ years later).

After I got a year's experience at Werner/Pam I moved on to Con-Way truckload, when I get 3-5 years here I plan to go to Wal-mart, or Fuel Hauling.

I drove for PAM for 11 months during 2013-2014. I was terminated for reasons that I will not disclose. It was not a wrongful termination, they could have fired me 6 months in had they wanted to. Anyway, I was offered a settlement shortly after being fired. Driver Solutions wanted about $600 so that the contract would be considered settled. I thought I would get rid of it through a CH. 7 bankruptcy that I needed to get rid of excessive hospital bills.

Several Lawyers all told me the same thing. Truck Driving contracts are an unsure thing. I am not sure that we will be able to get rid of THAT portion of your debt. Another lawyer told me to file the bankruptcy, and that MAYBE it would be discharged, but not for sure.

I ended up settling with PAM for $3100. So I had to pay $2500 more than had I just settled at the end of the employment. It is considered a STUDENT LOAN. I did not want to risk that they could collect a larger amount down the road.

What does that have to do with anything in this thread?

    What did you just contribute?

My two cents, just an opinion based diatribe to the woes of these newbies who think trucking is the means to an end of their problems...the promise of freedom and the life as a road warrior. The truth is, changing jobs will not always prove to be an answer to the complaints we sometimes read on the Truckers Report.

However, this thread was started 4 years ago and I must wonder why you would even consider my post useless considering PAM is just one of many carriers with the same load of crap.
