All drivers at Superior make the exact same cpm not matter if they are new or old employees. I could be wrong but I can't see Superior wanting to keep having to train new drivers constantly because it is expensive. They have stated that they strive for driver retention and they do offer decent benefits where you can retire from here if you want to.
I honestly have no issue with the company overall. My beef is with the tractors they keep buying.
To stay in trucking or not and if so what direction do I go?

Hope your back gets to feeling better.
Good luck.rubberducky68 Thanks this. -
bolting the fifth wheel down is what alot of tanker co's do ,because of the stress from the surge.
the position you have is about where it should be.
I always put it 1 hole forward of the center of the axles.
Macks do ride rougher, but shouldn't be that bad I wouldn't think.
I haven't driven one in yrs,so I can't really say.rubberducky68 Thanks this. -
if the suspension is properly set - ride height - the two fastest ways to improve ride quality are shock absorbers and a better quality seat IMHO nobody should put up a bad ride the health problems that occur are too costly

All I can tell you is to keep pressing the issue. You may get the reputation of being whiny, but oftentimes the squeaky wheel gets the grease.
As for Superior letting him walk over a seat, I'm not saying it won't happen, but I would be surprised. I think I heard it costs the company something like $20k to hire a new driver. $700 to keep one is a bargain in comparison.rubberducky68 Thanks this. -
20K sounds high. Bean counters who come up with those type numbers factor everything in. Probably depreciating the cost of the truck and terminal building to get a number that high.
-
You're probably right, I think I am confusing the 20k figure with something else.
-
It used to piss me off that my program that brought in double its salary and pool rental costs in program fees was said to be subsidized to the tune of 250k because they factored in the cost of the pools that they had to have for memberships anyway.
For sure Jack, Robert and the training center is factored into that number -
Try greasing the king pins, hit the top and bottom grease zerks. And grease the seat track. Mack,s have the reputation of being a rough riding truck, but that,s from the old r model with camelback suspension. With the air bags on the steers, that truck is easily in the top 3 best riding trucks made. I,m sure your co. has one of the cheaper seats in the truck, being a co. truck and all. But mack has prob. the best seat of any truck made. Trust me freightliners will beat the living tar out of ya, compared to a mack,s ride. Check the air pressure in the steer tires, if it,s 120 Lower the air pressure. Good Luck with your back

Tried to talk to the TM about my truck but he was too busy to discuss it. All he said was he did not have any Pro Stars available right now and told me to get the shop to look at it. Shop said fifth wheel looks like it needed to move forward some but they wanted me to get weighed with a loaded trailer and bring them the weight ticket so they could move it up enough without putting me over weight on the steers and drives.
It will be next week before I can get a loaded trailer and get weighed because I am off tomorrow. Then I have to make a special trip back down to the terminal to get the fifth wheel moved. Shop said if that did not do anything for the ride then it would go to Mack to get the air bags and suspension checked out.
Got two job interviews tomorrow so if the price is right I may not have to worry about the truck anymore anyways.
