Have I lost touch with this industry?

and i grew up from 62 to 70 in Center Valley right on 309

 

when we got there in 62 I was in the third grade with a brand new teacher from Kutztown State
Miss Shoemaker she wanted to send me to speech therapy class because of my New England accent
My parents had to go to the school and say I was ok and talked just like the President
never did eat sauerkraut or pierogies after we moved back to NH

We drivers( at least me) are looking for good equipment, Elogs if is possible, satellite communication, a pro active operation, if there's a worn tire or tire getting bald , I want to have fix right away, not tomorrow, or next week, of course I will drive to the next location to avoid abusive road service charges, If there's a issue with the fuel card , you provide the driver with comchecks or fleet one checks , in case that issue cannot be resolved in the next 15 to 30 minutes,you approved those checks, no drama, no maybe, pehaps, or any excuses. You must have a fuel stop computerized route , if the oil change is due this week , do it, don't delay it,you must provide health insurance to drivers , I am not saying that because I am driver, there's competition out there, all the big and medium guys are offering that, otherwise I have to pay Obama the H insurance tax, people are looking for mon tru Friday over the road jobs, I personally don't care, if you could afford install an apu unit on the trucks, not the cheap ones, tripac is trustworthy, The last company that I worked for, I stayed there 2 years , 70 to 80% hook and drop , you cannot beat that, unless what you offer pay wise is very interesting, people want security, dot is cracking down like crazy, 3.5 years ago I was working for this amateur contractor, with bad cia truck scores, got pulled over in N Carolina by one those Ex military Iraq insurgent killers, the man treat me like a piece of $%#%, Yelling at me, he was doing road inspections looking for drugs, weapons, explosives the whole enchilada, he humiliated me, calling me a liar,treating me with arrest If I don't show him " the illegal stuff " he was looking for, And he went inside the cab , check everything and could not find nothing illegal, and after all that , called the k9s support and once again zero, nothing.
And after all that he made go inside trailer and breakdown some of the pallets, batteries were shrink wrapped, after that I had to drive to the nearest shrink wrap store, using the shoulder driving at 10 miles an hour afraid for those losen battetiws,Otherwise All the batteries would end up on the floor.
With those kind of maniacs you cannot say nothing , yes sir , no sir, Or if you try to be funny, they could implant something illegal in your truck, and your life is over.
After this experience was over ,I tried to understand why this happened to me, went online and found out the safer Web link, and entered the company name that I was working at the time, and their record was terrible, log violation , speed violation , repairs undone , a total disaster.
From that moment I saud, Never , ever, I will work again , for someone who does not care, about the equipment, the dot record, the drivers, he only cared about the money.
I guess is the feeling that is out there between the drivers, you need to show credibility , show transparency, be transparent with the driver, put everything in writing , make sure he understands and agrees, people feel betrayed when you don't do that, be pro active, I would like to thank the opportunity that you offered me or want to offer me with your company, but I had pretty bad experiences with small companies, I wish you luck .
