I've looked everywhere I can and I don't think API has selected a color code for Red Dye Diesel. There are colors for ULS and LS but I can't find the code for "off-road" or non-road.

In Arkansas off road, no tax diesel has a green lid

All the road fuel I buy is green, or tax paid whatever you wanna call it. Off road non tax paid fuel is red.
It should be this way in all US but I am certain beyond all reasonable doubt if you get caught with red fuel in a road truck in Ar you will frown

Right, we know that the fuel is dyed red to make it easy for them to catch you using it in an on road application. The OP was asking what color the fill lid was, as he might be a gas hauler. All types of gas/fuel have color coded lids on the in-ground tanks so we know which hole to drop it in.:Tank truck:

Well I feel like a jack er donkey lol. With a better explanation it makes perfect sense to a non fuel hauler that oughta been listening instead of talking. Sorry is best I can do here

One of the racks we load red dye at has the arm colored green, where regular ulsd is colored yellow. This seems to be consistent with the two other posts saying it should have a green lid. This is in california. The actual tank lid at the place we deliver to doesn't have colored lids, we go by the tags.

The lid is green colored in NC for non-highway diesel ... red-dyed diesel.

There is no API standard. One site is using yellow with a red stripe in Maryland. Thanks for all of the replies.
