they lost 2 ptp drivers out of maine so I think they loaded our trailers and had an outside carrier drag them up there. and now they have to get them back.

Good for you, always leave on good terms evening if they do not deserve it--if u know what I mean, that stuff can bite ya in the butt later--LOL

Lets see, Wal-mart 80,000 a year 6-3 work time to start--ya that may not be a bad thing.

Kept in touch on here with us----

Ya that's what I was thinking, that they were having someone else drag them up there, but was not sure--would not make much sense to bob tail back if u know what I mean--they would have to pay for that I am sure--

Wow, was the lost recently--they just haven't figured out that they need to pay extra for North east pay-----must of been pretty tough for those two up there, do we know why they left?

just an FYI i forgot to mention earlier......

there was a JB driver that was hijacked and shot at that first redlight coming out of inman yard in atlanta earlier this week.

i know we're all probably a little more vigilant running into and out of that area but it's just a reminder to never get complacent, keep your doors locked and your guard up running in and out of there. it's not the best part of town for sure. at least most of the time we're empty or bobtail coming out of there.....and it's clearly a lot harder to grab one going in than coming out. news reports said thieves in the area are watching for trailers with seals on them and having an empty would be a plus in that instance. given the volume of traffic through there at certain times of the day, you're pretty much a sitting duck at any of those lights.

if they even so much as approach me and i can move i am redlight or not just need a hole. if I'm stuck and they make it to the truck I'm pretty sure they're going to go for a ride they won't forget if i can move. dump the clutch and/or just up a couple of gears and slam on the brakes and they'll most likely go splat on the ground. I'm not one that just rolls over and gives up......i kinda take the 'how dare you' attitude to people like that. guess it comes from the way i came up in my teens and early 20's hanging with the biker crowd lol

ironically enough the JB driver had a can full of furniture. they found the tractor a couple hours later up on 75 north of town but never saw any update that they found the trailer

Ya I heard that, did not know what was in it, heard he was grazed in the head by a bullet, same here on evasive action that will be taken, and you are so right, setting duck at lights there, I also would rather be tried by 12 than buried by 6.

Ashley runs regional trucks and I think day cabs also, I wouldn't take the straight truck job for 14 bucks an hour especially since you have less than 1 year experience on class A. 7 more months in a truck and you will have an amazing amount of opportunities open up for you.

decent week this week......got in 1730 Friday but heading back out sunday early. 2905 and 8 d/h

    advance to Knoxville
    Knoxville to ecru
    ecru to ft. smith
    ft. smith to ft. Gibson
    ft Gibson to olive branch
    olive branch to ecru
    ecru to atlanta
    Atlanta to new albany
new albany to ecru to advance

any of the LTL guys running out of Knoxville see this.....that returns trailer is there for a reason. USE IT. not real impressed with you guys over there. get to Knoxville and do my drop and all 4 of the 'empties' there have quite a few stickered returns on them......in addition to the trailer that had returns on it and was positioned and supposed to be used for that purpose.

advise dispatch and they put me on hold and 15 minutes later come back after having consulted LTL and PTP mgrs., safety and dispatch higher ups and ask if I would mind consolidating and dragging all the returns to ecru? being the man my daddy raised of course I said yes even though that was the last thing I wanted to do but.....given the layout of the lot and that all the 'empties' with the returns on them were backed into their spots, the only way to do it was to one at a time d/h and pull the other 4 out and back up to that one and shove all that stuff across from one oven to another. then stand it all up and secure it. 5 couches, 2 chairs, 2 dressers and various other smaller pieces later I finally had it all done and secured. wasted an hour and a half of my time doing your job. I got paid a couple drops for it but it wasn't worth it in that heat and the fact that I had to move 4 trailers to do it and you're supposed to be doing it to start with. I considered that it might be outside carriers pulling the stuff and bringing it back and just dumping it there but dispatch was not pleased and said it was our guys.

good day otherwise though ran advance to Knoxville to ecru and got to ecru with 13 minutes left running 40-75-24-72-24-23-78

pretty uneventful week otherwise other than getting in Friday on shorter than usual miles and having to go back out sunday morning.

off to leesport soon as the wife heads to church tomorrow then already planned deadhead back to advance from leesport
