PTL has a terminal in Los Angeles and a drop lot in Albuquerque.

I was afraid of something like that. So far PTL is the only one that has given me a phone call let alone a prehire. hoping for more prehires. but if worse comes to worse I can stick it out for 40K. Besides I talked to TransAM a few years ago before some high school stupidness came off my MVR and they were interested but said they didn't do prehires so I should have no trouble getting on at TransAM.

PTL is OK to get started with, just don't do a lease. Be a company driver. It's the drivers leasing that are having the problems.

    Try these also:

    James H. Clark & Son - company has excellent reputation(age 23)
    Navajo Express(age 21)
    PI&I Motor Express
    Ard Trucking Company
    Western Express
    Comet Transportation-Harvey, IL
    Earl Henderson Trucking
    Halvor Lines(age 21)
    Jones Bros. Trucking

Thanks for the info Chinatown. From what I've been reading since I joined the forums a few years ago only a fool leases straight out of school and even experienced drivers have a hard time making a go of it so lease is out for me anywhere. I think western requires drivers to be 23 but it may be 22. I am 22 right now so anyone requiring minimum age 23 is out. Also I live in Leesville, SC so don't know if I'm in all of those guys hiring area but I'll definitely look into it.

Clark website has age 23. Most on the list are 21 though.
