we have two in dump trucks pair up with allison trans and they have really nice power. Both drivers love them.

Gutless.. Worst engine ever made. I can pull the truck harder than the 12.9 liter.

The older ones tend to be hit or miss.. lots of improvement for the newer ones. In the hands of a good driver, you can get good fuel mileage out of them. Same Variable Geometry Turbo and aftertreatment system as what the Cummins uses. Davie 4 software is a pain in the nuts. They seem to need computer updates fairly often, but the bugs seem to have gotten worked out of them, for the most part. Not a powerhouse, by any means. Cruised extremely low - more so than even a Cat engine. Don't wanna shift by sound until you get used to that engine.

The last couple of years, one of the brokers I haul for, has bought the 5 new petes with paccar MX13's. The ones that have hit 200,000 miles have been more in the shop for DEF sensors issues than on the road, which are 2 of them. No warranty on DEF issues.
