What is the bobtail valve and what valve is still leaking air out the exhaust?
-
I'm confused as well. Do you have a separate bobtail ratio valve, like an LQ-5? Or do you have a bobtail proportioning relay valve? Were exactly is the leak? When is it leaking? All of the time? Only with the spring brakes released? Only with the service brakes applied? Need more info.

You sure it is not a leveling valve?

It's a Bp-r1 valve. Leaks air out the bottom relief when you release the tractor brakes and get ready move. It's connected to the service side of the brakes, from what I've read supposed to make breaks less aggressive when not pulling a trailer.

And only leaks when spring brakes are released.

Disconnect the lines from the chambers and the control port. Chalk wheels, build air and release parking brake. Nothing should leak air. Air from chamber hose, bad chamber. Air from control hose, could be swapped with supply hose,( other hose on top of valve) or some thing is sending control air when it should not. Start by checking for brake pedal or piston under it sticking. No air leak from lines, new valve is bad.
