Can anyone tell me how CRST

hopefully you can do better than the crash and roll stunt team.

mountains are a non-event. you're over reacting. just take it slow, stay ahead of the truck and don't let it push you down the hill......likewise the moron supertruckers behind you. they can go around if they don't like your speed coming down.

you can come down a mountain too slow an infinite number of times but you'll only come down one too fast once. drive like you have some sense, know and drive within your abilities and respect the truck and the brakes and you'll do fine

 

Mountains are okay if you use the engine instead of the brakes. Make sure whomever trains you gives you actual mountain driving experience instead of only discussing it in class.

 

Mountains are easy if you pay attention and go slow. But whatever you do, don't go to CRST. There are way better training companies out there that treat you like a person and actually train you.

OP, you really need to use the search function on this forum and do in depth research on ALL your options and each company. Just a simply search of CRST will show you why you should stay away from them.

No matter where you go you will hit the hills.

No big deal. General rule: descend in the same gear or one lower than you ascended. Second rule: Use a Jake, save a brake!

If you go with CRuSTy, your first order is to be a total social butterfly and scope out a potential partner (crusty is team only) or watch people very carefully and pick a candidate. If you get crustified, always be on time and drive hard and you will find air freight or cat dedicated will start dispatching you. You want air freight, those guys are awesome.....unlike the standard division.

My first choice was crst, I went thro their school and orientation, but was not hired becouse the recruiter forgot about my speeding ticket, I was very mad that day, but I didnt know how lucky I was to dodge that company. Then I ended up with Werner, I don't know what you heard about Werner, but it's good company to start with. But then again I love this job and don't care what color truck I am driving. So, Me and you are different, so probably go with your instinct
