In case you haven’t figured it out yet, when a poster says ”SNI” they mean Schneider (Schneider National Inc.).

I went to Prime; failed at backing after being on the road for 3weeks, you can't failed more than 3 trails/ days there, that's the worst part of being train by the company. There 's no penalty to the trainer, in my cased he just ask his manager for a new driver(one with CDL) to replaced me; I wish he was a bit more helpful since he getting double the miles/pay; I rotated with him in the driver seat. Best to go to school..and get reimbursement later.

I am in the Houston area as well, I just finished orientation with Schneider, I did their program where they pay for my school and I have a 1 year contract with them. The school I went to was Houston Community College and from my experience, it is a very good program. The normal CDL program is 6 weeks but the Schneider class is 4 weeks than you will start orientation about 1-2 weeks after that.

I chose HCC for a couple of reasons, one was I live in Baytown so it was one of the closer ones to me, the other is I read a few reviews on here about the school being one of the better ones in the area. It is located where Hwy 90 and 610 meet.

I am in my 2nd week actually driving and so far it isn't too bad, I've had a few local runs and 1 OTR so far. I would have another OTR run tomorrow but I had requested Friday off so my DBL told me that it would just be something local. If you have any questions feel free to message me.

Trained there myself and still had friends there as trainers when they closed up their in house training program. They are thourough and don't leave much out once you show up with your CDL. Living in Houston, I can't stress the importance of going with tankers. Houston is a goldmine for bulk drivers and the possibilities are endless. You want local, long haul, regional, HAZ MAT, non HAZ MAT, dedicated work, you decide. Once you fulfill your time with Schneider, consider yourself a prime candidate for a company of your choosing.

I pulled vans and reefers for a decade before wising up pulling tanks. I killed myself to bring home a $1000 dollars a week working 5 or even 6 days. Spending up to 20 hours a week at customers UNPAID is no way to earn a living. Pulling a tank I bring home $1100 working Tuesday through Friday on a dedicated route.

A few years ago when I got into tanker yanking I would always ask Schneider bulk drivers for advice. They are very well trained for multiple scenarios and overall very knowledgable. Defiantly wish I had started pulling tanks sooner.
