All of this is LIVE video feeds not saved to an sd cards during a critical event and it's relatively cheap. So don't forget to put a smile you're on camera 24/7 on your dashboard. :p

Won't be my problem. Like I've said in other posts, I've left myself an out. Wonder how many who swear up and down they'll hang it up have had the foresight to do the same?

I am sure insurance will incentivize it and cloud server farms allow companies big and small from 1 truck to 10,000 trucks to cheaply monitor live and record 24/7 and store for 90+ days or download to keep as they don't have to physically manage the data or buy any hard drives.

    Definitely my exit.

With stuff like mandatory elogs and speed limiters, I'll simply get off the big road and go local and hourly.

But driver-facing cams? Nope, ain't gonna happen. Got enough reserve to take plenty of time off and find something else to do.

And if I ever get so much as even bumped by a company truck that belongs to an ATA member while in a POV, I'll be screaming in agony with a neck injury.

I hear ya. The insurance company tried a "test" with a few of our drivers......didn't go well. What companies will find besides the obvious violation of privacy is that the video will incriminate them as much as the other guy......especially with these "shared" liability rulings. You can do nothing out of the ordinary and some court will find you 30% responsible. I believe the exodus of experienced drivers from trucking has already begun and many of the new drivers don't plan to hang around and make it a career.....JMO.

Has anyone disputed this in court? I wonder if the court would rule in favor of the driver or the company as far as a driver defending privacy vs company saying it's their property. It gets to a point like this software(and there's several more companies offering this service btw) like this is IMO treading a very fine line of violation of privacy.

BTW wouldn't surprise me if trucking companies use this or similar software already and are just BS'ing about it only saving a recording during critical event. These record and save the whole time and can watch live pay-per-view not like trucking companies try to spin it saying they can't directly watch a driver.
