Agreed. The fuel I may have inquired about. The coolant I may have asked that he call to authorize the purchase before hand and I would get it fixed at the earliest opportunity. Not calling is very bad in my eyes but knowing some drives have an excuse for everything, he would likely tell me he needs a new phone and iy won't hold a charge and his charger broke blah blah and blah. And you know what...if he is using his personal phone for my company business, then I am really to blame because I an providing him with the opportunity to screw me.

BUT...after all of that we are still left with the unauthorized DH home and that is a firing offense in my eyes.

If I own the truck and I am the boss then I simply would not tolerate any childish excuses from a grown man who should be a Profesional at his job. My company let's me do all kinds of things that cost them money but you can bet your ### I call and ask permission first it's not my truck it's not my fuel therefore I communicate. Fire this idiot before he ruins you.

Afterburn25, you remember what I told you my driver did to my truck when he got it back to La, right?
Take my advice, either hop on a plane or lets find a load and head to Pa and go get your truck fella!

Get rid of him before he cost you more than a couple of jugs of antifreeze and fuel.

Just the hanging up on the phone is enough for me to kick him to the curb.

well yeah hes gone I could even count it has him quitting being the fact he went home without permission then refused to answer phone for a week I couldn't get a hold of him so i got the state police involved they went to his house then he emailed me real quick he did offer to bring my truck back but demanded I pay him a plane ticket back home lol like what company does that. plus i don't want him in my truck no telling what hes gonna do to it. nope so he brought it to the truck stop by his house and dropped it off so i got a flight on Sunday to go get it I really believe this to be abandonment. too bad he can just go to another company and do the same thing with them

So it's okay to abandon him away from home but he isn't allowed to abandon your truck?

just cause i don't want to put him on a plane isn't abandoning him most companies best your gonna get is a bus ride if your lucky. not quite the same thing as abandoning $60,000 worth of equipment. plus he screwed up not me most companies will leave you on your own once they route you back. not like i haven't given him multiple chances either

I couldn't sleep worrying about what he might do before Sunday
once the cops were called I would have just been there
I am sure you had other responsibilities but i would lose plenty to do what needs doing
