Quit working for Schneider in '03. Had been out 6.5 weeks, stl sent me to hometown and didn't want to give me a day off to spend time with family.
Got plenty of those $400 checks running short bs sears loads up n down I5. Averaged 1800 miles wk. Worked for them for around a year and never made a check over $700. Didn't get training with Schneider so I can't speak on that. I've worked for worse companies but not by much. We drive to earn a living and if you can't earn a living you gotta make a move.

Started with Schneider almost two years ago, OTR western up and down I-5. I admit it was rough at first, but 'you gotta do what you gatta do' to get'r done. It took a couple months to learn how to work the system, I was blessed to have people(other Schneider drivers) to help along the way. Was introduced to a lead driver on a dedicated acct. and a couple weeks after was hired on this dedicated acct...now I have a good run going for me, home every other day and weekends, working about 40 hrs a week, getting paid salery(same pay every week, don't have to worry about milage). Good times

Schneider were ready to hire me until my medical interview where I admitted to passing out once in my life after getting up from lying down to take a piss. This happened once in my life 12 years ago and hasn't happened since. Even with a letter from my Doctor and HMO the stupid people in that company told me the DOT would not allow them to hire me. What a bunch of liars. Thank God there are so many better companies to work for.

And then you call them liars. Took me a grand total of 3 seconds to find this:

A person is physically qualified to drive a commercial motor vehicle if that person:
Has no established medical history or clinical diagnosis of epilepsy;
or
Any other condition which is likely to cause the loss of consciousness, or any loss of ability to control a commercial motor vehicle.AfterShock Thanks this. -
Uh, you were going to work for them, and now you insult them because they didn't hire you because of the fact that you lost consciousness from an unexplained reason?

I would never mention that again to anyone, if it were me. Were they there as witness to when it happened? NO. Will it happen again? Doubtful at best.
There is telling the truth to someone, and then there are details you might provide that they did not ask for. I doubt you noticed the interviewers face/ expression when you revealed this - but it was probably in the neighborhood of..... ummm - really? WTH?
These are just a few thoughts that occur to me - you passed the rest of the testing and phys - don't bring that up again.
Incidentally - who is Schnee using to conduct their interviews, a nurse out of an 80's hair band rock video? LOL I am kidding and I wish you the best.
On a side note - the Army asked me a bunch of questions about 15 years ago, and got the truth - and NO ADDED DETAILS. There were no issues. You had to know somewhere deep down that it slipped outta your mouth - don't knock a company for following the DOT - it's required. -
You gotta learn not to volunteer information like, you passed out once, so did I but you don't tell that to perspective employers. If you admit to stuff, they don't need proof.
-
And if a potential employer in the truckin' industry asks if you've ever had back problems, don't answer "YeS".
BackING problems can be overcome though,
and can be admitted to without too much fear of rejection.

Thank you for your responses and what you all said is true. You should never admit anything if you don't have to. As far as having a condition anyone could have a one time condition caused by lack of sleep, lying down and suddenly getting up etc.
If it is not a chronic condition then it should be no condition not to get a job. In review it was my mistake to admit that it even happened once and I hope anyone who is reading this does not make the same mistake.
Anyways in the end I have been offered positions with 2 other trucking companies that are ranked very high with most truckers on this forum. With that I am very thankful.
