DOT 2015 Roadcheck

Then I did the 2nd next best thing. I quit. I start driving local, never a scale, tommorrow.

 

I use the road check week to work on my truck .
This year I am recoring my radiator and replacing my oil pan gasket.

 

A lot of road side inspections this week so dont get to lazy.

 

Nahh.. it's reeeeally local. Field to Farm and Farm to Field. Liqua-manure in spring and fall and silage and corn in between with a few months off in the winter.

 

Was talking to a driver this morning in our terminal. He was taking the week off till Friday because of road check. He was getting a hotel room to wait it out... He was talking about a driver he knew that got a $180 ticket for something trivial. So he is gonna spend $500 on a hotel room to avoid maybe getting a $180 ticket.
I gave my truck a through pretrip, checked and filled all the tires to 110, and cleaned the truck... I'll take my chances. I may be barking a different story by Friday,... Time shall tell.
I had a Level 2 just last week and got a clean inspection, so we shall see...

 

portables, they know about that trick too.

 

I ordered new straps since I need them anyway. Probably be the first thing they will be checking. Gotta give the lights a once over tomorrow. Bet Illinois is gonna be a fun playground this weekend.
Wont be surprised if they set up check points on the Indiana toll rd this year.

 

One word ...... Retire , fixes it for good.....

 

You know, in 14 years out here, I've yet to be pulled in during road check. The thing is to do a pretrip, keep your truck clean and don't be a moron.
