Need advice from some more experienced sand guys out there

I have hauled sand, been a pusher and now I'm a frac hand. Unloading into a different bin other than specified is a big no no. Many times we use different sand during a frac and if the bins gets contaminated you have to haul off the entire mover which is costly or if the wrong sand is used it can screen off a well and cost hundreds of thousands to flush out, you don't want that on your head. Best thing to do is wait and if you run out of hours you shut her down on location for 10hrs, it's all part of being a sand hauler. And yes the exception is only for us frac and coil guys but what people don't realize is it doesn't extend your 14hr you end up just saving your 70 for the week. Good luck it's tough out here right now. It's not time to mess up.

 

I ran sand and you have to run a regular 14 on 10 off day intra or inter. If you are running 15 as stated you are in violation driver. And with the situation I would have asked other drivers that ran the pre fill what they were hauling. Especially in those castles. On the dispatcher situation you did what you were told and not what you assumed. Maybe that dispatcher has been messing up. But just do what the company says to save your ###. Oilfield is very cut throat especially now. But also look into another company they are all paying about the same now anyways.

 

Where is that written? because we used it a lot at Sun Coast and they were fanatics about compliance. It was on the Qualcomm as an option one day per re-start.

 

In Texas oil field drivers are allowed 15 hours per day. Still 70/8 but 15 on and 10 off is normal.

. First of all, sir, your mistake was not having the dispatcher put his instructions in a text or email. That being done would have put you in the clear as following unquestionable written instructions. Any problems developing from it being in the wrong silo would have been with them and not you. As far as the hours issue, nothing personal and not trying to be tacky, but you probably also had earlier control of that too. I been out there a long time friend and we can prevent most of this by planning our work and CYA ing. By the way saying "making a mountain out of a molehill since Pioneer didn't know" shows your lack of responsibility of doing a proper job. Our company have to pay for hauling back out 9 loads at no cost to the customer due to one irresponsible driver putting in one load of the wrong sand. You know they do check sand grades when pulling sand for the frac and they do have the paperwork from the trucks that unload. Unless your dispatcher also told you to do something different than leave in the mailbox. Night dispatcher did not help you, silly, he threw you under the bus.lol. It was a PREFILL. No problem, if you were that worried about your hours you could have just shut down and got that sleep that you are whinning about. Quit your crying and trying to fool the readers out there that dont really know the entire story.
