I worked for Cult Power inc out of Niles, IL for 2 months. I have been driving for 27yrs without tickets or accidents...until I got there... I was continuously pulled into scales and DOT inspection because the company is red flagged due to their safety record. I had my first ever accident in early 2015. Black ice under snow just outside of Milwaukee. I was down for a week. They put me in another truck worked for a month routed me thru to their shop because the pro star I was driving was derating and throwing codes. I was told when direct deposit was going out that their "computer" wasn't allowing the bank deposits to be made and that the owner would cut me a EFS check for partial pay. I kept calling for that check and could not get a solid answer. When I was routed thru to the shop I was told the OWNER was going to meet me there with my pay that was owed me. Instead he brought me a settlement sheet that was falsified ..had me as contract driver not a driver that I actually was. Charged me a $2000.00 deductible on the truck fined me $800.00 and said I owed THEM $1149.00 over what I had made driving OTR that was $3400.00. 3800-4000 miles a week gone for 2 months. He said they switched insurance companies and couldn't keep me. Took me to a hotel in Glendale heights, IL no money for food.....and the hotel was 15 minute walk from any nearest convenience store ...... both directions.......said if he if had a truck come in I could get a ride to Florida where I lived. I was there for 5 days. My Aunt paid for a ticket back to Florida and as a result of not being able to hire a Attorney or pay the ticket from Milwaukee they suspended my license....how can companies just steal wages and make up charges???

And to think I just hired a driver today and gave him a 500.00 advance because I don't want my drivers stranded out on the road, takes all kinds I guess.

Good for you Stan ! That's how you treat a professional.......now lets hope you hired one and he earns the trust placed in him.

Not to worry, the Mockba mafia mentioned above will get theirs I promise. Either someone like Big Bill is going to rip his head off for tinkering with pay or his authority will be pulled. It's just a matter of time.

And for you drivers....geeze, wake up and smell the coffee. Before you hire on always check his FMCSA. , it's a public record and you can tell how he operates by his score. Then always keep a reloadable credit card and a open grey dog ticket in your stuff. No one can strand you that way. Were only talking about $350 total to pull all this together so no excuses. Lastly travel light. Make sure all your possessions fit in a duffle bag until you do find a trustworthy home.

You have to cover your own butt drivers, no one else will.

True, BUT sometimes the CSA score isn't the best indicator, for instance, our driver score is way below nat. avg. however our vehicle score is just under nat. avg. it should be down where our hos score is, why not, ONE driver racked up 128 CSA points over a three week period, he is no longer here, that was part of the reason for the new trailers, but all of the other drivers combined still fell short in three years what this one driver accumulated in a very short span.

    That score goes both ways!
