My husband went to work with this company just a month ago and I do all of his paperwork and tax work (CPA).

    Our Story:
Brought in for 2 days orientation - Very nice to us (Put us Up in a Hotel and took us to eat 1 Time)
Gave ComCheck Codes to purchase Gas to even get there - They charged him back the wrong amount by .08 cents on one of them....took 3 weeks to get that corrected...but if that would have been all, he would still be driving with them.....

1st Load - On to California - Turns out the truck he went into X21 under Naedok didn't have working cruise or Jake brakes and he had a hell of a time getting down those downgrades into his delivery (Thank God he had plenty of experience under his belt and proper training from his Father and Mother's advice)....I email our supposed go-to person about how we felt it was unsafe to come back under load to have this problem corrected....Guess What....he got put back on a load to get out of California....back to terminal for repair....Repair was done and not charged to us.....

Please note...I sat through the orientation part of the charges and everything...

Next few weeks go well....he gets miles and things are looking like they are going to go well....I assumed the negative remarks were from driver's wanting free trucks and big checks....

And then the crap began....We had a major major family issue that my husband had to come in and handle needing a week off after being there a month....Took truck back to the yard and figured since he had only been there a month he would have to quit....he hated it...he has always dreamed of owning his own truck...but his family came first!! Then, by the Grace of God we thought, he was offered to just do a leave of absence since he shouldn't be gone but a week.....

Now fast forward 1 week....we reserve a room at the Quality Inn there in Siloam Springs for Sunday night, so he can be there this past Monday morning bright and early at 8 am to go back into his truck.......We prepare to leave only to find that his check he was due the week before had not been direct deposited....called everyone we had a number to trying to get there and find out what was going on....no one could help or didn't want to help and the 1 that did want to help didn't work in this area and would have gone in and tried to figure it out but again what could she do....she handled logs...not payroll!!

So, we sit here thinking the truck that had been promised to him that would be sitting there waiting on him in a week had been given to another driver and he had actually been fired....Email was sent on that Sunday when we discovered that we did not have the money to make the 10 hour drive back to the terminal.....

Onward....we finally get a response....their offer...well we will give you a ComCheck code to get you back to your truck and then maybe on Wednesday or Thursday you can get your settlement....REALLY!!! We have a 3 year old child that was and is still in need of diapers with no money, not to mention our bills we had to cover!! No one ever showed one once of care at this point!! I really think they figured they had gotten him to run a month and pay $120 per day under load on a truck he will never see again....My opinion and I shared it with our go-to person is that this company will con a good driver to come in and run with them....keep them as long as they can (all while paying for their truck), and then start making crap up!! Therefore eventually through the many drivers that go through one truck eventually getting a truck paid for and free to them at the expense of each driver and their families....

Finial Settlement....well, he left thinking he would be coming back...so he left some items in the truck...that they do charge you for....Load Locks, shrink wrap and so on...and don't let them fool you with the pay form they will gladly email you...those toll surcharges at the bottom...yea...they don't happen...not unless the broker pays them and well....again I was informed after the fact that most don't.....so there goes more of your money out of your pocket....LOL

Sign On Bonus...they conveniently forget or don't tell you that if you quit they take it back....oh yeah they cut you a deal....Total sign on bonus...$1550.....they took $1050 of that out of his check....NO WHERE ON ANYTHING does it say they will take it back and you never sign this in the contract either......So can someone please tell me how they can do this?????

From there....another sign on bonus...first fuel free...Complete rubbish...he got a whole $90 for his first fuel free and then they took it out of his last settlement......again....nothing, nowhere said this in any of the paperwork and he again never signed anything that said it was ok for this to happen.......

I will give the Office Manager credit here though...we were promised by our again go-to person that if we needed help during our transition to the company with bills they could help with a small personal advance....OMG....she swears she doesn't remember saying that......she said it to me over the phone before we left to sign on and again in the office....It took my husband emailing one of the owners brothers to get this $400 advance and we had no problem with him!!!

The problem here is the recruiter/go-to person or as she called herself the drivers advocate....LOL...Yeah, more like the chase her, beg her, get lied to by her and so on and on....

His grand total final check after they took all these items that he never was told he would lose was $101....for running over 4000 miles.....Does something seem off here...I have not given complete story here!! Just the short version of how this company will screw you over big time...doesn't care if you eat or have life saving medication or anything else for that matter....oh and then apparently as small as that office is the employees in there don't know what is going on from one person to another....one person assumed he quit...the other a leave of absence....another something different....and another had no clue!!!

Again, told said go-to person on Monday to please let us know what his check would be for this past Friday and we would as a couple discuss if we felt comfortable to go ahead and continue with the company...Guess What...I had to email her again asking for this information....At this point I am just going to copy the emails and let each of you reading it decide if this a company you want to take a risk with!! Please see emails below...I will remove names of the employees in advance as I feel like I am going to have to seek an attorney to handle the final pay problem but you will get the gist of what all was said.....From there....I have set up an email account for anyone that would like supporting documentation to this story...I have every email and almost every phone call recorded because we had been burned before!!! The email address is mississippirose3@gmail.com. Please feel free to send me an email and I will share with you everything I have as proof.....but please do your research....they claim it is just burned employees that didn't know what they were getting into....NO....some of them maybe....but up until I was lied to for the 100th time....my husband still intended on going back!!! He wanted that truck....it had been his life long dream!!!

Enough Ranting - Read the Emails that I have Copied and Pasted Below and You Decide!!
The start of this is the final email I received with his final settlement for a whooping $101 bucks!!
Do note...to read the entire story from start to end you will need to scroll to the bottom of this and read back up....I did not want to alter the email anymore than what I had to do to remove the names.....and again if you have any question please feel free to email me...I have everything!!! I hoard paperwork!! LOL

Everywhere you see and asterisk (****) and information between it is where I have removed names so I can not say I am openly committing slander here!!! If you want more information - AGAIN - please refer to the email address above...I will be more than glad to respond, give you my phone number and provide whatever proof I can to show you that this company is NO GOOD!!!

    He was not fired.
It was my understanding that he is on leave of absence and eligible to return to work at any time.
I really resent you telling me that I have been avoiding you and your questions, since I have spent a significant amount of time corresponding with you and working with you on the phone.
I am not even going to respond to the accusation that I do not care if your child is starving.
No support from the office other than ****Another Employee**** is also a statement that I am really unhappy with. I felt like I have been putting every effort into keeping you (and **My Husband**) happy. From Day One with the inverter, the 6+page emails and running back and forth from ***Office Manager***, to Dispatch, to the shop , the new truck, ..... I mean, I spent a large amount of time over an .08 Cent discrepency by a store clerk somewhere.
I got a copy of the settlement (which has Never happened before) which I am attaching to this email. If you will notice, the bonus money that you get at startup for a total of $1550. We only recouped a portion of that...so please keep that in mind when you are upset about the 2 $15.00 Load Locks and $10 roll of shrink wrap that you were not reimbursed for.
I am terribly hurt by your words and accusations. I don't usually let a driver (actually a rider I suppose, not even a driver) get to me or hurt my feelings, but I feel like I have really invested some effort into making/keeping you happy.
Just let ****Another Employee****know what is going on and if/when you will be back. I am sorry you feel that way about me and I am sorry I made your time such a bad experience.
    *****Signed By Our Go-To Person****

I feel I need to make a note here of how her information is wrong again...he didn't get 2 Load locks, he got 4.
No onward to the email from me that caused this response!

That is fine. If these questions can’t be answered ASAP and we know how the check is being sent so I can get my medication I have been going without since Friday due to that check not going in the bank as said it would the answer to your question about giving the truck to someone else would be yes, give it to some other poor soul that won’t get any support from your office either!!!

We have fought long enough on this matter….he has another job offer and we can not wait any longer!! Our child will be going hungry and it really does appear that no one there cares at all!!!

I have every email and conversation that I have had with your people of this company saved and recorded showing how we begged and begged for information. I don’t know what happened in that office to Paul or whatever, but we can’t live this way and all of the reviews that we were so nervous about appear to actually be true at this point.

**My Husband*** just spoke to ****Another Employee @ Office*** and she informed him that you told her that he quit as of yesterday!!! So what is it ****Our Go-To Person****…is this the way your company works???? Con drivers in…have then work long enough to get a little paid in on the truck one at time until your company ends up with a free truck!!! This is how I feel….no support from office other than ***Another Employee***(which by the way is the most honest one there) and ****Another Employee in Logs***(the one that seems to actually understand Trucking at all).

He left supplies in that truck he was charged for!! I have no copy of a final settlement to even see what it will be or what on earth you charged him for and now I guess he quit yesterday when I clearly told you that we were going to discuss it over night and wait on an answer from you on the check!!

So I am not sure what on earth is going on in that office but due to the lack of communication in that tiny building and your employees, I guess ***My Husband****is either fired or quit.

    Signed and Extremely Frustrated,
    Melinda Kilbourne

Another note here I feel I should add...this email was sent after practically getting on my knees begging for information as you will continue to see as you read the rest of these emails.....

I will ask ****Office Manager**** if he can get that settlement sheet for me. It is not something I usually have any access to, but we are a special case. I am doing have two potential recruiter applicants here and am working with them, so please be patient with me, I am trying.

Another note I am going to add here.....we were told in orientation if we had a question about the settlements that they would not discuss them with you unless you had a copy of it in front of you and then you could contact your "driver advocate" and discuss it. Why would you be told this if this go-to person usually can't get access to them????? Just another thought here is all......and now Onward....

Your settlement was sent out yesterday. They are waiting to hear back and see if we need to make arrangements to get you here, get you express code to help get you guys in here/medicine and get you in the truck or if we need to just make plans to put someone else in the truck.
Let me know what you decide. I am in interview process for the rest of the day for the recruiter position and if you can just shoot me an email to update me I would appreciate it.
Thanks and hope to see you soon.
    ****Signed By Go-To Person******

Another note to ponder....why did they go ahead and send the settlement out if they intended on him coming back and getting on Wednesday or Thursday??????
And what about our 3 year old....does he need to go get a job to get diapers and food????

    ****Our Go-To Person*****,

As we spoke to you yesterday and asked for you to let us know what ****My Husband****check was going to be for this past Friday and let us know, but we are yet to hear anything….we have kinda made our decision but the finial factor is going to be that check amount and when we will get it. Please let us know as soon as you can, so we can make arrangements.

    Thank You
    Melinda

Another note here.....this email above was sent to our go-to person wanting to find out why we had not heard anything as of yet on what was going on after over a 30 to 35 minute conversation and clearly leaving it open to them to handle their business and let us know!!

    Melinda,
I just spoke with ****My Husband****about this issue. I wasn't here and was in the dark on the issue. I had no idea that he was leaving, or what happened that he was going to need a leave of absence. When I asked for some details I actually learned that he had told them that he was quitting that day, initially. So, from a business standpoint, it would be safe to assume that a final settlement would be occuring for an employee who had been here less than a month who wanted a leave of absence. I offered to assist ***My Husband****to get back here and into the truck ASAP and to pay him a settlement as soon as he delivered (Wednesday or Thursday). He said He would just go ahead and get the final settlement. If you think you could talk him into changing his mind pretty quick it would be much more beneficial to you guys if he would just come in and get back in the truck. The bonus money can be charged back to you if you leave after only a month and all final settlements are mailed out through the regular USPost Office, ALWAYS. Maybe touch base with ***My Husband***and get back with me, because they are working up a final settlement now.
Let me know what he says.
    ****Signed by Our Go-To Person*****

Another note here....I was the one who finished up the conversation with our go-to person and as I told her to please work up the amount of his check and let us know what it would be so we could make a final decision. Also would like to know if he did come back ASAP as she says in this email he could get his check that was due to him on Wednesday or Thursday, how we were going to pay our personal bills, get my life saving medications, and feed and diaper our 3 year old son until he delivered????? He was due to be paid last Friday!!!! We were expecting this check and had made arrangements to cover the lost pay for the week he took off!!! We were not prepared to basically be pushed out the door and told to go to hell!!!

***My Husband**** was due to get a check this past Friday via direct deposit!! He called everyone he could reach trying to find out what happened but no one seemed to care. He had plans to be back there tomorrow morning to start rolling but we have no money to pay the gas to get him there. WE ARE GOING TO BE LOSING MONEY BECAUSE OF THIS!! Not to mention, how are we to feed ourselves and our 3 Year old son and get him diapers. ***Go-To Person****, I am livid!!! I have never in all my life seen a company promise they would not hold a check because a person took a leave of absence that was offered to him and assure him he would still have a check on this past Friday so he could get back to the truck. He left several items in the truck that he is being charged for and if he is fired I expect every cent of the money charged to him for those load locks and start up items refunded. I also need a clear understanding as to if he has a job there or not because to be honest with you as of right now we are guessing yall have given his truck to someone else and have kept his last check and fired him. NO ONE will explain anything to us. We were set to come up today with a hotel room so he could be there Monday at 8 am when your doors opened to go back into the truck!! We have a 10 hour drive to get there and we are sitting here twiddling our thumbs because your company didn’t pay him. Please tell me what he is supposed to do???? Does he still have a job there or was the leave of absence offered to him by ***Another Employee**** a complete and udder lie. We have to do something!! We have a child to support and due to your companies lack of caring if an employee gets paid we are just sitting here with nothing!! Not even enough to cover our few bills and buy diapers for our son. THIS IS STUPID!! Please advise us as to what is happening and if he has a job or not and if he does when he will get his check so he can get up there to start back to work.

    Thank You

    Melinda,
I am touching base with you on the questions that you sent to me last week. I just got off the phone with **My Husband***and we tried to add you to a three way call into the conversation but he didn't think you had answered and we couldn't get it to work. I did email you last week on the 20th but apparently you did not receive it and thought that I was ignoring you. I told ***My Husband***that the reason that I did not receive a call or response from me was that my mother unexpectedly passed away last Friday and I have not been in the office. I hope that you understand that I did not intentionally ignore you guys or blow you off and hate that you felt that way.
Just to reiterate the points that I went over with ****My Husband****, I have attached the email I sent last week and I will list the issues that are completely taken care of.
Pet Policy - you requested it be taken out 100 per week. DONE
    Direct Deposit - DONE
I explained about the National Fuel Average issue the week ***Office Manager*** was out with ***My Husband****. You were underpaid 48.39 but the deadhead miles were figured at an overpayment of 58.00. When we add in the .08 cent discrepency on fuel comcheck to orientation and the 3.00 difference on the Wash out, we still have you coming out ahead on that.
I am going to have to do some additional checking/follow-up on the Gate fee question that you had, but will get back to you on it after I have had a chance to do some follow up (told ***My Husband****it may be Monday)
On emailing settlements to you, when ***My Husband*** does his call in on Friday, he will simply need to let myself, ***Some Guy I have Never Heard of*** or ****Person in Logs**** know that he would like a copy of the settlement text to him/ emailed to you on that day. We will then send you a copy after 2:30.
On the new truck, most typically truck payments are set up on a 66 month lease for new equipment and if he is wanting a fridge installed we will need the amount given to ***Office Manager****, it will not be an option to add them to the payments..

Again, I apologize for the bad timing and miscommunication that was caused by my absence for the passing of my wonderful mother. Please know that under normal circumstances I would have never made you feel that I was ignoring you or "blowing your issues off".

I will be in touch with you regarding the remaining issues very soon.
Let me know if you have any additional questions. I will be checking email regularly and working online even if I am not in the office today and tomorrow..

    Sincerely,

    ****Signed By Our Go-To Person****

That's why I just said screw it and copied and pasted the emails here for everyone to read!!! I get everything in writting and this is the exact reason why....this story is not over...if they don't produce the peice of paper he signed showing they were going to keep that $1050....I don't work....I got time...and I will find a lawyer if they do not pay him what he is owed!!!

But in the end...at least they only got him for a month and he's already got another job with better people and more home time!!! So win either way it goes!!

But I won't go down without one hell of a fight over that thousand dollars.....that is money to take care of our child and they could care less!!!

That is truly awful. However, with all due respect, Hurricane has been well known for this type of behavior and fleece purchase program. Doesn't excuse anything but gotta research til you're blue in the face when going to a carrier.

So very true....we did research...but the person that we pointed out all these negative reports to told us that the company had changed hands and was under better management....well the management is fine....it's the people left to actually deal with the drivers that don't return calls, give information, or just in general lie. I can't say that everyone in that office is horrible...I can name several that are great and do care....but they are not the ones that deal with the drivers on a regular basis........They need to be....the company would be better off I can assure them of that....but Goodbye to Bad Rubbish.....onward to a bigger and better job that litterly came out of no where when all of this was happening....God does truly look out for his people!!! Our son will be fine thanks to some family members helping us out and he is so excited about this new job it's not even funny.....better pay, more home time, and excellent people....but then again we do know some of them personally so I guess we should have never given this place a chance ..... if we never get the thousand dollars, we will be ok....but I am a woman of principal and ###### you don't lie to me, cheat me, or try and hurt my family!!!

So you leased a truck from them? Don't ever try to lease a truck without back up money. 2ND DONT LEASE from a COMPANY!!!!! Most will fail @ this... You saved yourself time by leaving this job now. Go work as a company driver into u get the money to go to a dealer(USED!) and get a truck and lease it onto a company that really only deals with O/O or a small company that pays u what your worth. Leasing onto a company with COMPANY drivers will screw you. They will get the good loads while you get the BAD ones. Sorry to say but once you take that FIRST advance you will not get caught up you are 400 in the hole next week you are 800.. so on so on. You have learned a leason here just cuz they make it sound good its NOT.!!!!!

They don't have company drivers....this company is strickly lease/purchase....they painted a pretty picture but it all turned out to be crap....we had it covered...and we are going to be fine....we expected to be short a week due to him taking the week off, but if they were going to do this, why didn't they just let him quit....at least then he could have been looking for a job while dealing with the family drama crap....but all and all....God takes care of his people and he already has another job with much better pay and a ton more home time!!! And this time...we know it's a good place...I guess it helps to know some of the people personally...LOL...live and learn I guess....we thought about buying a used and leasing on with Landstar but we found this company...we did research it and addressed it with the company before we went up there....thought it was a good company....they seemed open and honest and nice with the exception of one person up there that has a better than thow attitude, but you are going to have those any where you goes!!! LOL At least we got out with only getting fleeced for a month!!! Live and Learn. As for the advance....we were actually ok...like I said....until he took this leave of absence everything was actually going good...they split the $400 up and they did seem to try and make sure you had a check every week...when he took the leave of absence, he was told they would not hold his check for this past Friday....we were prepared for the week he had taken off, however, we had to get the checks here....Thank God they came in the mail today and he already has a new job....So Goodbye Hurricane....you may have pretty trucks but if anything happens, they just don't give a ####. They had a ton of crazy stuff going on in that office during the orientation process too....even over heard someone discussing a fataility accident and everyone seemed on edge but a week or so later everyone had calmed down and we were rolling along doing good even paying for the truck!! Their settlements are very clear and easy to read but even in doing the right thing by returning the truck to the terminal and relaying off his load he was under just exactly the way they told him to do if he was quiting...they still kept #### near every penny of a check that should have been 1200 dollars.....LOL.....they got us for a month!! Lesson learned....on to bigger and better things, but I won't stop fighting of that thousand dollars until they can prove to me he signed a form saying they would take it back if he quit or they pay him what he is owed.....I got nothing better to do than to sit here at this computer all day long telling everyone and anyone that will listen just exactly the truth about this company....and I have the proof to back it up....that's the difference.....we didn't walk in to this blind...we knew what we were doing but had a major family emergency and had to have the time to deal with it and this is how they did us....Maybe it was because he was so new, maybe it was because they just needed someone to finish paying the truck off.....who knows and who cares at this point!!! Just warn anyone and everyone that thinks of going this route that this may look great and does go well......but have one issue that doesn't involve them and you are screwed....This company is just strange....For example...why would you advertise a drivers lounge with showers, washers, dryers, and TV with Wi-Fi and then only have it open Monday thru Friday 8 am to 5 pm????? What if a driver parked at the yard over night and needed to go to the bathroom????

I heard Schinder has a good lease purchase program. I've never heard much good said about leasing a truck though.
I always figure it as a scam. They take advantage of people who don't have any idea what they are getting into. You should have a pretty good amount of money saved up to cover your expenses before you lease. Maybe $10,000 .You should have a lawyer that does contracts look at the lease contract before you sign it. If you haven't been driving very long you should not lease anything. You don't know what your doing yet. Ask the company how many people have actually completed the lease and own their truck. Ask for their names and phone numbers so you can verify they successfully completed the lease. Remember the old saying there's a sucker born every minute.

Honestly what they have going is not so much a scam....it is actually a good program as long as nothing major ever happens to where you have to take time off....that is where he go screwed....and FYI...he's been driving for 12 years with well over a million safe miles under his belt and I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Business....I do believe I know what I am talking about here....Don't judge people before you actually know them dear sir......I know what he signed...I was in the orientation with him going over what was covered and what was not....but conveniently right after he signed on with them the person that handled everything didn't work there anymore.....something became fishy and that is when we began to question things....Look at the dates on the emails...these happened TODAY.....and he already has another job....we kinda expected it but had hoped they would truly work with him but he just had not been there long enough for them to care or either they never really cared.....up until this issue today and yesterday....we were happy and had full intentions on returning.....but at this point with the way this lady acted to me....if he goes back...he loses his wife!!! So check your facts before you say people don't know what they are doing....WE DID...we had an emergency....we are going to be fine....already got money in the bank and we are rolling on with bigger and better things.....better pay, ton more home time, and epic people to work for at this point we are actually happy in a way this happened....He managed to land the cream of the crop jobs!!! Can't beat that...I was just putting this out there for others to know about.....NEVER JUDGE SOMEONE BEFORE YOU KNOW YOUR FACTS!!!!!
