Hi ctoles, I don't think you can go wrong there. TMC has been around a while, and always seemed to have nice trucks. ( and drivers that keep them looking nice, so that says something). Keep us posted how it goes. We always hear of the bad stories from new drivers, it would be nice to hear a success story once in a while. BTW, there are a lot of flatbedders here, so if you need any help with something, don't be afraid to ask. Best of luck.

Biggest down side to bringing the truck home is maintenance. It will be on your clock in that situation. Lots of companies require they be parked on the yard so they can be worked on during the drivers home time. Depending on what the company pays you for getting the truck serviced it may not save you as much as you think.

Normal PM's are scheduled during your work week. And no, I doubt they pay you for the service. This is not a tanker company and they have no problems with you bringing the truck home on the weekends, that's their policy. Unless you have a breakdown, the company will route you to the nearest terminal for your scheduled service/pm.

Hey ctoles, are you still at TMC? I will go to school, and much like you, I want to go with tankers. Do you have any feedback? Hope everything is good.

no matter what company you go to. a good MVR is what most company look at. Especailly the great one. don't jump too may job. Most good paying company will look at those 2. Clean record and not too many job hoping. It take me 3yrs , OTR to get somethings that will fit my need. I now home every day making decend wge. Tank usually make decent living. Less work, shipper and receiver always repect u more. If u have to wait, they will pay you for waiting time. If you got pay hrly, than that errelvant. So good luck and remember keep Mvr clean and as less job hoping as possible.
