My husband has an impeccable work ethic, over 3 years exp with a clean record, he is out on the road literally 360 days out of 365, there are just too many pay settlements are so low we cannot pay our bills properly and iam sick of it and so is he!
If anyone has any info or tips on where we might look for a company that is capable of having at least SOME consistency or you have any other tips please let us know!
thanks for anyone who can direct us in the right places
Cannot deal with the inconsistentcy!

Who does he work for? If you provide your location and what type of work he currently does, i.e. flatbed, tanker, etc. you may get better responses.

If he's truly out like that and you can't pay moderate bills then yeah, time to move on big time. Like the other post stated we need way more info to be of any help.
The big things are where you live, who he works for and what type of trucking he does.
If he has done 3 years clean then he can command near top wages from most anybody.
Let us know...
Good luck -
Outside of that, there are a few companies who offer a minimum pay guarantee. One of them, again depending on where you live, is Metropolitan. As long as you are available for dispatch and don't refuse loads, you are guaranteed a minimum $825/week. While it's not exactly in the upper echelon of pay scales, it does offer consistency, and, like I said, if you live in the northeast or midwest, will get your husband home most weekends. -
lots of variables, does he take advances every week? is he eating at truck stops every day? living on the road and trying to pay home bills at the same time means he should be eating more out of his truck, When I was on the road, I only eat in the restaurant very seldom, small frig and microwave can save a lot of money, Is he just not getting enough miles? or enough CPM

Hi May Ann, you've come to right place, HOWEVER, be advised, you'll get 15 different responses with 14 different solutions here. That's how diverse the industry is. There are plenty of local jobs, it's just going to take a little more leg work, because, unlike OTR jobs, local jobs aren't always advertised, but rest assured, EVERYBODY needs drivers, whether they say so or not, so for starters, again, depending on the area, I'd go right down the list of local freight haulers. ABF, Fed-Ex, even saw an ad for "buster brown" (UPS), and I don't ever recall seeing that. Best of luck.
