More electronic contraptions are of no interest to truck drivers outside of the new problems they will cause us and outlay of even more more time and money we will be burdened with when one of these fabulous ideas becomes yet another unfunded mandate we will be forced to comply with.

And if you're following a horse trailer, would the morons tailgaiting you, think they were looking in a mirror and get confused?

Hey ... I'm a post-graduate sociologist (working on a PhD) and clearly understand idiots represent a large percentage of the population, I also have a post-graduate degree in history which verifies there is no shortage of idiots on the planet Earth today like yesterday and yesteryear, but my job is as a financial analyst and that requires me to look beyond everyday idiots and at statistics like the government & insurance companies do.

I haven't looked at the statistics here nor care too, I simply posted this thread as an informative piece showing a possibility of the future = if it's shown the cost of installing these systems (which could be a few hundred dollars each) is cheaper than the costs of "killing or injuring up to 50 million people throughout the world each year" truckers nationwide will likely see them in their near future (and I don't care if you need to spend an extra five minutes per week keeping the screens clean lol).

This isn't about what truck drivers think ... its about "killing or injuring up to 50 million people throughout the world each year" and taxpayers like me pay for Medicare/Medicaid/VA Healthcare not to mention higher private health insurance premiums so if this proves to be a less expensive option its good for everybody = and with you not having the first clue regarding the numbers perhaps you should take a break from your naysaying/fearmongering until you see them.

Technology can be a great thing, but I see this as an extremely expensive and high maintenance device. Although the amount of traffic on the highways is increasing exponentially, one thing that would make a device like this obsolete is common sense. More and more our lives are becoming dependent on electronics and gadgets to do our thinking for us. Where will it lead?

Hook up a DVD player to it.

Whenever a 4 wheeler tags along and tail gates, run the footage of a freight train coming at you....head on.

    tucker and Rockin&Rollin Thank this.
