Well I've officially accepted training and a potential position for WSE. I decided I'd start this thread in hopes of keeping people who may be considering joining up with the company informed about how things go for me. I leave out for training on 20JUN08. They are paying for the bus ride from OKC to Boise. I'm staying at the Inn America in Boise in my own room, so that a plus. http://www.innamerica.com/ . Here's an excerpt from an email from my recruiter concerning training.
your first week will go pretty much as follows::
you will arrive on Sunday 6/22 most likely around 645am
you will need to take a taxi to the motel and get some rest
be in the lobby on Monday 6/23 at 7am to be picked up for class
you will have an appointment Monday for a dot and drug screen and the
time will be given later as i will not make the appointments til next
week
**** the instructor will test everyone to get a feel for weak spots in
testing and work with each to ready them for testing on Tuesday
you will do the class a permit test on Tuesday
you will also transfer the oklahoma class d licence to idaho class d
licence at a cost of
$3 for the test and $24.50 for the class d
then you will test for the class a permit $3 and the permit will cost
$19.50
the following days and weeks of school will be taken up with practice
driving and learning the rest of the book
i am confident you will have no problems with any of the testing or
driving
it will be a new experience for you and i believe a great career
change
plus i will be available for any questions or problems during the next
year
i will stay in touch over the next few days
i will make reservations for both the bus and the motel on Wednesday
along with a list of items you will need to take with you and the list
is not very long
have a good weekend and please do not hesitate to call with any
questions
In my dealing with other recruiter from other companies, she has been the most professional and honest, most of what she told me I can verify on this forum and a few others.
My training pay is will be weekly, though I'm not sure whether or not I can list the amount so for now I'll just say I'm very satisfied with their weekly training pay.
I'll be posting more once I get up there and get started.
Wish me luck!!
Newbie to WSE, here I go!!

Well after 2 days on the bus I made it here to Boise. There will be 6 students total and we all have our own rooms so that's nice. I'm told the other will arrive tomorrow morning. I asked my recruiter if I could arrive a day early so I could rest up a couple of days before monday and she let me. They're paying for the rooms, so I appreciated them allowing me an extra day. Rooms are very clean, very nice.
the bus ride was completely nuts, as was expected. The final leg from Salt Lake to Boise had 12 kids under 6 and 5 babies so it was screaming and crying the whole way..a real test of sanity..lol.
I'll leave a quick post Monday after the DOT physical and we'll receive a synopsis of how training will go. -
good luck man. your prior military aren't you ?
-
WELCOME and good luck to you.

GOOD LUCK...................

Thanks for the warm wishes, I do appreciate them.
If anyone knows, since I'm from Oklahoma, will I be running out of the Elm Springs, AR terminal? -
thats what i figured from the wayyou wrote the date in the original post. that was a dead give away. -
LOL yeah that's too funny, that's a habit I can't break, that and swallowing my food whole...

I'm an old man, I hope so, but I've been writing my date like that for soooo friggin long..lol.
So I've seen some of the trucks, most volvos atm, but was told they're replacing most everything with the new Mack Pinnacle, I heard volvos ride like a dream. I doubt I'll get a brand new one at first, so 'm looking forward to a volvo. Which is better or worse?
