Sounds like low-lifes getting off because a liberal big-city judges and State Attorneys who don't like the stand your ground law wants to make a point about how the law ties his hands in order to get it repealed.

Thugs, low-lifes, and others already in the system have a way of being processed and kicked back out onto the street time and time again, while law-abiding citizens are made examples of by the same system. So again, good luck with that.

I just listed several examples in post 49 showing you are wrong.

This has nothing to do with advancing your position, its about fear of great bodily harm/death and those attacking others can be shot dead whether they are walking away after the attack or not, again, it's not the victims burden to try playing Miss Cleo and figuring out if the assailant is finished with his attack or not, the victim has the right to eliminate the assailant by any means possible including a bullet in the back of the head.

Most of those cited news events had ZERO to do with shooting an attacker who is retreating. You cited individuals who would've been covered under castle doctrine laws, as the event took place in their home or at their door. You cited cases where liberal judges and state attorneys in big cities improperly cited a law they don't like to toss a case in order to provide fuel for the repeal effort. You cited cases where criminals who typically get the revolving door treatment from the judicial system continued to receive the revolving door treatment. Your post would have been considerably shorter had you limited your references to relevant incidents, where a law-abiding citizen went on the offensive to chase after a fleeing attacker before shooting that fleeing attacker in the back. You cannot legally pursue your attacker to "finish them off".

Again, somebody that attacks once can attack twice and it's not the victims responsibility to figure out if the truck driver was going back to his truck for another weapon or would use the truck as a weapon ... plain and simple ... the trucker driver instilled "fear of great bodily harm or death" in the victim and the victim has a right to shoot him ... and the law doesn't care if he shoots him in the back or anyplace else.

Stop trying to add your own whims and read the law, it clearly says if we fear "great bodily harm or death" we can shoot the perpetrator no matter which way he/she is walking. That's the beauty of the law, it makes idiots that don't want to get shot act responsibly.

You'd better read the law before you wind up on the wrong side of it.

    http://www.leg.state.fl.us/statutes...ute&URL=0700-0799/0776/Sections/0776.013.html

You have the right to stand your ground if attacked without a duty to retreat, NOT to pursue and finish them off once the attacker retreats. NOWHERE in the law does it say that you are allowed to pursue and prolong the engagement. Also, the "stand your ground" law also does not apply if you are engaged in criminal activity, which also blows some of your previously stated "examples" out of the water.

Do yourself a favor and READ THE LAW.
