At least us OTR drivers get per diem which makes a pretty big difference.mxpx148 Thanks this. -
Lol @ they aren't trying to screw people.
Take note Daniel son!! They get somebody pay 4000 a month for a truck they won't own. 48,000 @1000 to make math simple. That only just paid a company drivers salary for the year. You also pay for fuel. Won't even try to do the math on that. Plus they take 35% off the top. They then can resale the truck and what they get from that is put in their pocket. Dude you are going to learn trucking companies don't give out free lunches. Schneider has money coming in all kinds of ways. Thanks to you wanna be owner operators. -
TAfool, sicksfeet and freightwipper Thank this.

Was I wrong when I said I cleared $4k in a week? There was no carry over.. ya'll saw that in the loads I posted.
I'm cool with explaining if someone doesn't understand something or wants me to explain further.
When people jump right out and say I'm full of it or making stuff up isn't exactly fair.
Anyways I do know for sure Schneider is gonna make a push soon trying to expand this program or at least promote it in more ways.HeWhoMustNotBeNamed Thanks this. -

Let me make something clear if Schneider was out to screw ICs they wouldn't be posting any high paying loads on the load board but they do.
That was my biggest fear before coming here, that it would be the "Schneider leftover board" with all trash freight.
After getting inside info I realized that wasn't the case.
Sure there's bad loads here too and lots of them but there's average and good loads too.
Remember you can bring your own truck here, they don't force you to lease a truck from them and if you do lease through them you can buy it out if you want.
35% does sound terrible but % of what? I've stalked some Prime threads, bumped into some of their drivers. They haul reefer and get a higher % but somehow their rates are around the same or less than ICs at Schneider. What does that tell you?
If an O/O running his own show goes to a broker don't you think that broker is taking a huge cut out of that rate also?
No doubt Schneider is doing well but so am I so I don't really care.Last edited: Jul 7, 2015
